The Wizard's Collection is $250 at barnes and noble right now, and I used a 15%-off coupon to get it down to $212.49 before tax. I don't own any of the Ultimate Editions, so this seemed like a decent deal.

I don't know what to do right now. I don't own any of the Harry Potter movies right now except for Deathly Hallows.

I thought of going the Ultimate Edition route at first but now I see that Order of the Phoenix is out of production. Not to mention the lack of the extra bonus disc and the final part of the 'creating the world of harry potter' documentary. But the Ultimate Editions do look nice on a shelf.

This set looks quite ugly IMO and I don't know if I can bring myself to pay 300$ for cardboard. The 'Lost Collection' and Bond 50 set both look beautiful. I hear there are some issues as well with this set. What are they?

Will Extended Editions of the other movies ever be released?

What would you guys do? Any advice would be appreciated.

EDIT:

This castle edition looks so good . This being 300$ is something I can understand. This should have been the Wizard's Collection .

I checked the DVDs and they worked but then again they didn't have those "waves" on the back of the discs, so I'm kinda worried. Here is a low-quality picture but I think you can see what I'm talking about:

I don't have any friends that have blu ray players and can help me by checking the discs to see if they are damaged. Has this happened to anyone else and what could cause this? Should I be worried?

Apart from this and few very slight scratches, everything is perfect. Except it weights 10kgs and I have nowhere to put it.
I've noticed the same "waves" on many of my blu-rays. That being said I've never had a problem playing a single one. If I had to venture a guess as to what the "waves" are... I'd say the protective coating applied to the blu-ray disc... though I am by no means an expert on this subject!

Question Boxset, Round 3?

Forgive me if this has already been discussed earlier in this thread (or elsewhere), but is there any news/information on a complete boxset that falls somewhere in between this uber-fancy 31 disc set, and the relatively bare-bones 8 movie boxset? While I enjoy the HP movies, I'm not diehard enough to fork over $200-$300 for this gigantic set, and have currently settled for the underwhelming bare-bones set instead. But I'd prefer something in between, since I'd like to have the regular special features, deleted scenes, Extended Editions, etc. that you'd get on the stand-alone BDs. Anyone know if something like that is in the works at this point?

(and no, I don't want to go buy all 8 individual BDs)

Thanks!

Anybody no whether we will see a deal lower than this in the future? I don't mind waiting for awhile longer if i could get it for atleast $50 cheaper. But I am afraid we won't see a price drop like this again.

Thanks, I hope you're right. But I read through that thread (it's just the one page with 14 posts, right?), and didn't see anything referring to another boxset. Where did you see something about the "smaller set"? Can you quote that part in here, since I can't seem to find it within your link. Thanks again...

well B&N is back to full price. I am really hoping amazon has a sale on this soon. I am getting antsy. I guess I can always go for the UK version, but i'd rather have the american set.

It includes the same discs, but it doesn't have the character cards or the books.

I might just order the Ultimate Editions from the UK. I just wish someone would specify if the better special features are on the region free Blu ray discs or on the locked dvd's

Ah, yes - there's what Serenityncc880 was referring to. Excellent, thanks for the help both of you...

Warner Home Video’s EVP and GM of theatrical catalog Jeff Baker revealed last year that once all of the copies of the Wizard's Collection are sold, Warner Bros will begin selling a "less robust, more cost-effective version" set of the eight-film Harry Potter series.
Very exciting news. Can't wait to upgrade to this upcoming set, since my "Complete Collection" boxset feels so... incomplete (without most of the extras). Now if you all would just hurry up and snatch up the remaining 31-disc sets so we can get the aforementioned "less robust" set moving forward, I'd be most appreciative...

The UK collection has the bonus discs for HBP and the two DH films.
