Gotcha - misunderstood your post.

I thought I made clear that TT has been releasing films with scores from top composers, the maestros of the field. My initial post was questioning the "score merits" of the aforementioned '80s sex comedies.

"yet another lost red-haired stepchild finally coming home"

WTF does that mean?

He means a much-maligned--later to be mostly forgotten--film from a well-known director, and that therefore has gained something of a curiosity factor over the years due to the big names involved and the unavailability of the title.

I hope any future contracts TT makes with studio's they try and get in a clause where if a title sells out on preorder they are allowed to print 1000 more or something. Its not the consumers fault or TT's that the studio's misjudge the audience for a film.

"Lost" = missing in action (stuck in the studio vault).

"Red-haired stepchild" = a child who is obviously not your own, a child who is treated worse than other children in the family (an unwanted, neglected video title).

"Coming Home = returning to the family (finally getting a home video release)

Just shorthand filmczy...

I guarantee there are more on the way for Bye Bye Birdie (no 'below 500' notice yet, and doubtful this has sold 2,500 copies regardless), Lost Horizon, and maybe a few others, but the Big Heat and Enemy Mine numbers are likely 'final'.

Is that official? I don't remember there being an announcement on the stock of Bye Bye Birdy.

Might have to jump on The Big Heat if that one goes to 500 soon.

I would have thought that anyone who bought Our Man Flint would also pick up In Like Flint. Maybe they're waiting for the sale on Mar 8

Meaning that this cart count may be reflective of what SAE has in stock for each title not the total number of unsold units...am I correct that this is what you're getting at?

Yes, although for some titles, in-stock and total remaining are the same - Egyptian, and probably the others I listed.

Not for me. I love Our Man Flint, but In Like Flint goes into camp instead of just strong tongue-in-cheek nudging of the spy genre. In In Like The acting is poor (i.e. a few flubbed lines), the core plot concept isn't strong enough or fleshed out enough to sustain a feature film (at least the way it is presented), and Flint himself is turned into a chauvinist @$$hole to top it all off.

So I'm not all that surprised at the numbers for 'In Like' being lower than 'Our Man'. Frankly, I'm surprised the sales numbers are as close as they are.
