Did you people like go into seeing this movie knowing nothing about it? Hello! The trailer blatantly focused on the fact that it was recorded on a handheld camera. I thought it was brilliant and refreshing. Something different in theaters as opposed to the trash that comes out nowadays. The following week Meet the Spartans opened and I guarantee that gets a BD release before Cloverfield. I know they are different studios, but it is still a shame. I am just sick of hearing people complain about the shakiness of the movie. It was intended.

Talking clover please

I hope they try there best to release as soon as possible.
and something i hope they include is the option for Dolby trueHD or Linear PCM audio
If i have to though I'll settle for the colectors DVD and then when properly released I'll get the Bd version

I knew it was supposed to be shakey but I gave it a shot anyways. The result was nothing even close to "brilliant" or "refreshing". I don't want to give anything away, but the plot was even dumber than that prisoner movie with Stone Cold!

I knew it was going to be handheld cameras, I thought that part was actually pretty cool, like you were actually there experiencing it but the part that I hated the most about the movie and made me sick to my stomach was

*spoiler*

everybody dies. I hated that because you start to get to know the characters and their relationships and then it is all torn apart, my friend and I wanted to throw up because of how messed up it was when one of the members of their group was killed and then at the end of the movie you have no idea what just happened and no idea if there is a resolution, defintiely my least favorite movie for the past few years, still not worse than Jurassic Park III

SPOILER!

Well IMO that is what makes it quite brilliant. You actually begin to have an emotional connection with these people and then BAM! they all die. But you kind of knew that from the start of the film anyways when it states, "Camera retrieved."

ya but you don't know that before you see the movie

when I saw it come up with camera retrieved I figured they were all going to die but at the end I still had hope for the two last characters and I was like, boo ya, at least two will survive and then all of sudden everything blows up and they are crushed by the bridge just to have the voice clip go "it's still alive" What kind of memory card were they using to store all the video? that was imipressive to me that all that footage could fit on a single sd card, hahaha

~end spoilers

I'm pretty disappointed this hasn't been announced today.
I thought they might have chosen Cloverfield as one of their first releases since coming back to BD. But there we go.

I still might pick this up on region 1 as its definitely a flick that'll look just fine on DVD whilst we await its high-definition arrival maybe later this year.

If it hasn't been announced by now, chances are the BD won't be released with the DVD.

this movie was great and I loved the way it ended. also, they're already making a part 2 so we'll be able to tell wth is going on a little more(although probably not enough, just like lost). I want this and there will be blood day and date!

Paramount cant be that stupid and release the dvd without the blu day and date. I suspect that cloverfield and there will be blood are prepped for day and date, they are just holding off the anouncement for whenever they get around to releasing an official bluray statement. I suspect they will mention titles within the week

Hope so, but I'm sick of waiting to hear from paramount, so I don't count on it any more

Other than the AQ I really don't see how this movie is going to look all that fantastic on BLU? I haven't even seen Iron Man yet but I'd much rather have this on BLU than Cloverfield.

This is one of those films that you either hated it or loved it, I am part of the latter. However I cannot watch DVDs anymore so I will not buy it, sucks....
