I could see somebody trading up from the second round into the late first round, but taking Geno in the top 15 is like passing on Crabtree for Heyward-Bey: only Oakland could do it.
You really don't think Kiper is an outlier? He's really the only draft expert I can find not having Geno Smith in the top 8 picks. Either Kiper is wrong or every other draft aalyst is wrong. I'd tend to think Kips is wrong. Teams always reach on QB's.

Quarterbacks are severely overdrafted, he'll go pretty damn high. He's the top signal caller in the draft and teams will be willing to reach for him because of the position he plays.

The absolute lowest I think he goes is 8th. If he were still available there the Bills have to take him.

I agree, if he's there we have no choice but to take him. I would be surprised if he's still there at #8 though.

Tom Brady has signed a three-year extension with the Patriots. He already had two years remaining on his current deal, so this deal runs until he's 40. Brady took well below market value:

Quote:
The extension will pay Brady a $3 milion signing bonus immediately, in addition to salaries of $7 million in 2015, $8 million in 2016 and $9 million in 2017. Brady told Sports Illustrated five years ago he wanted to play until he was 40, at least, and this will accomplish that. He turns 40 on Aug. 3, 2017.
This helps the Patriots salary cap a lot, as it cuts Brady's cap number by $15 million over the next two years, so the Patriots should have a much better shot at keeping their free agents and being bigger players in free agency.

Sweet seems like he'll retire a pat and if those figures are right he'll pick up a nice chunk of change before leaving.

Te'o had a 40 time that was just 20th of 26 players at hia position. I hope this guy has thick skin. Imagine the rookie hazing this guy is going to get.

The Cowboys had him in for an interview, have a very bad feeling he's going to end up in Dallas, definitely not someone I want on Kiffin's squad.

He also only measured 6'1'' and 240 pounds. Not a good day for him.

The Redskins are still upset (and rightfully so) about the cap penalty they received from the NFL, and they're considering a nuclear option. From the Washington Post:

Quote:
Redskins officials have told people in the league that they are considering going to court to seek an injunction that would hold up the start of free agency or threatening that move in a bid to bolster their negotiating leverage with the league. Those conversations were confirmed by two people with knowledge of them.
Both said that the Redskins have compelling arguments they could make in an attempt to convince a judge that they would suffer irreparable harm if they are not granted an injunction. But others familiar with the case have said they don’t believe the Redskins have legal arguments that weren’t already considered, and rejected, by an arbitrator.
