It was a little bit of a weird one. First of all, it looked great almost the whole time but it also had a kind of smooth appearence. Very little grain. The initial assumption would be DNR but there was plenty of detail to be found in hair, clothing, grass, tree's and faces most of the time. It was as if it was shot on a professional digital camera, but not as high end as the ones shooting films today, obviously. It was just very clean and slick in appearence, like a modern film shot on an old digital camera. There were plenty of times where grain was visable and very healthy, but when it wasn't visable, it was basically nowhere to be found. And yet it didn't look scrubbed, smeary or necessarily bad in any way. It's obvious that something was done to it and it didn't look much at all like my dvd copy that I checked afterwards which was grainy from start to finish and looked just right. |

Per Horrorhound's recent Full Moon/Empire retrospective, Empire had a (short-lived) deal with Capitol Records, so WASP also appear on the soundtracks of Ghoulies II, Enemy Territory and TerrorVision (OD also sports a WASP t-shirt in the latter film).

I just watched Night of the Demons the other night and yes, it's pretty bad. But it's had some fun moments and the later 30 mins where the best. I actually think the remake was better and enjoyed it more. Last edited by davidthenikonuser; 02-27-2013 at 02:10 PM. |

I don't get why they are releasing the excellent Cold Prey 2 on DVD only? It's considered one of the best slasher franchises of the last 10 years. I'm sure they could have gotten the rights for part 3 as well since it has never been released in NA, and with some wrangling if they could get the first movie from Anchor Bay they could have released the trilogy on Bluray. If this franchise got more notice I can guarantee it would sell well! |

![]() ![]() And there it is : ) From Scream Factory's Facebook page... **EXCLUSIVE NEW KEY ART REVEAL!!** Artist Nathan Thomas Milliner (who designed our key art for The Burning, Halloween III and several others) wows us again with his werewolf-filled and ferocious interpretation of 1981's THE HOWLING which is coming soon to DVD & Blu-ray this Summer. We even showed this to Director Joe Dante who said "Wow! Cool! I'd go see that picture!" More details on THE HOWLING (specific release date, etc.) will be coming soon in March. Stay tuned! Amazing looking Howling artwork!
Definitely check out the Cold Prey movies; part 2 is the strongest in my opinion but I agree there are some riffs on Halloween II. Really the series is a near continuous trilogy so should be released as such in my opinion. Bring on a long overdue trilogy blu-ray set, Scream Factory! Wow. The Howling art is purty. Can't wait to see what kinda awesome extras they get for this.
I bet it'll blow away the last DVD release. And that one had quite a lot of great stuff, IIRC. Just checked the web. Here's what was on the Special Edition DVD.... Quote:
