I can tell the difference between interlaced and progressive scan images, but on a 32", I don't know that it would make a huge difference. It's gonna look good no matter which resolution you get, but for me, I would get the 1080p set because I notice the little things (I work with HDTVs).

I've read mostly positive reviews on the Sharp Aquos 32", 1080p TV if you're looking for a smaller one.

If you go with just 32", then don't bother spending the money on 1080p. You will have all you need with 1080i (1366x768). I own a 42" 1080p set, and helped my former gf buy a 1080i set. The difference isn't worth the money below 50", IMHO.

Go 1080i.
