The 3 discs mentioned doesn't sound good.
These will be the exact same discs from the previous blu sets. It will only have some audio commentaries as extras. They wont make new discs for this.

I don't care much about extra's.
Can't imagine why someone sits there and spends more time watching the extra's than the actual movie.

Yes, there are of course some extra's I am interested in (also depending on the movie), but that's rare... For example with my favorite war movies, Stand By Me & other drama (usually the older ones) movies.

The best thing about the prequels are the soundtracks, I really enjoy them.

I set up a pre-order for these. ~$81.80 in USD with standard international delivery if rates remain about the same. Cheapest I can get the set otherwise is just under $80 USD anyway. Given these are limited edition steelbooks I think that's a freakin' sweet deal.

If I change my mind, I have plenty of time to do so, but I'm not missing out on this. I don't care so much for all the extras in the big saga set anyway (and I despise the saga set's cover and color to boot).

I do care about extras for classic films like these. Which is putting me off ordering the steelbooks - plus I just dont like the look of them!

I have a feeling that these will be all be snapped up fairly quickly though.

I really don't know. You get a lot less compared to the Saga box-set and you pay more and the Saga box-set did cost a lot, so I don't think many people who own the box-set will purchase these steelbooks. And it is not exclusive to one store, so I am guessing its not very limited (like only 4,000).

20 GBP each would have been a fair price, but not 30. That's just crazy.

If it sells out fast, its because of scalpers. But I think they'll be stuck with these steelbooks. There are not many that will pay the retail price, let alone the scalper price (which is at least twice the retail price).

These steelbooks make sense for a U.S. consumer moreso than for a U.K. consumer, I think.

Why?

The Saga set is more expensive in the U.S. than these two Steelbooks.
The separate trilogies are only a few bucks cheaper than these limited edition Steelbooks in the U.S.

Additionally, even in the U.K., the saga set is only 1 euro cheaper than the two Steelbooks combined.

Beyond the cost, if you're a person who doesn't watch tons of bonus features (like me) and instead just cares for the movies (and likes the artwork on the Steelbooks), this set is fine.

Finally, these Steelbooks will be a lot more limited in the U.S. than in the U.K., so there's a bit more glimmer on them on this side of the pond.

This will be my first purchase in any format. I saw the first two in my teens at the theater. I remember the first time I saw it on the marquee, STAR WARS. What a generic, dumb title. No one's going to be interested in that.

I'd be on these like white on rice if they had some different artwork, but it looks like they just used the same artwork as the previous boxsets which seems very lazy to me. Why not use some original poster art or even something new? Pass.

Well I I preorder them both together I get them cheaper somehow even tho I see no mention of the promotion. I just pre ordered both for 54.05 British pounds shipped which I think is about $81.17 here in the states. I guess I just like the steelbooks more and never liked watching special features much even tho I could ge the saga here in the states for about the same price.

It's cheaper because Amazon doesn't charge VAT to over seas customers.
