It would fit if you use the Stak edition only, the Greyjoy and Lanister version are thicker. The logos on the spines would still be offset but it should work.

Game of Thrones is written on the edge of the slip it cannot look like the very same + the dvd logo on the spine.

Tough call, I live with the dvd as it is, these are useless as they're not my watching copies.

Thanks for the info

Like you said I might just order the DVDs and live with them

Hopefully they will release a season on blu-ray with the Targaryen slip!

Is the season one stark packaging the original release without the edit to that head?

What edit?
This is the same set that was sold last year.

It was revealed that they used a George Bush mannequin head in the scene where Joffery was showing Sansa her father's head.

It was then edited out using CGI. All of the unsold, unedited sets were withdrawn, and now the edited set is all that is sold.

Whether FS is releasing the Stark slip with the edited set, or they are just releasing old stock, I'm not sure

Really why would they use GB manequin head? Eddard Stark didn't looked like Bush at all.

When I was watching that scene I was like that isn't Ned Starks head! I was kinda hoping he was still alive. Damn he was killed in such a heartbreaking way.

Sorry I kind of misspoke. The "GB head" was one of the other un-named heads "decorating" the spikes.

It's not really noticeable to me. But it was mentioned in one of the commentary tracks and, true to the times we live in, an uproar followed so they changed it.

EDIT: I now believe that it was Septa's head!

Has anyone confirmed if the Future Shop version is the pre-Bush edit, i.e. the same as original Best Buy copy? I would really like to know before buying one. It also seems strange to be there is a price point difference between the Stark and Targaryen box sets - wonder how they explain that. Anyway, if someone has one and could let me know, that would really be appreciated. Thanks!

I believe the Targaryen box set is DVD and the Stark box set is Blu-ray, which would explain the price difference.

As for the pre-Bush edit, I can't help you there as I do no own the set.

Ah I see now what you are saying, and you are right, one is listed in the DVD section and the other actually says Blu-ray. But as far as I was aware, these are both BD - I didn't think that they issued these box sets in the DVD versions. Seems all the ones I have seen/heard about were Blu. I could be wrong though (definitely would not be the first time!), or it could be a mistake on the part of FS. Thanks for the reply

The Targaryen slip was available as a Blu-ray edition in the US at Best Buy. In Canada, the Targaryen slip was an exclusive to Future Shop and is a DVD edition.

I'm not 100% sure about that though.

No Bush head on this one. Must be a re-seal job then. I guess some slips were found so they put together more sets. Knew it was too good to be true.

Anyhow, purchased it mainly for the slip so glad I didn't spend $100+ hoping for the unaltered scene.

Did you check the images on google?
It's really subtle I'm surprise someone mentioned it.

I know exactly what I'm looking for. I have 3 copies of season 1 (UK, Re-release US and now the FS Stark) and all are the exact same altered scene. These have the newer discs in so are not 'original' so to speak.
