Default Who's Getting MLB 13: The Show?

I think I'm going out to Gamestop to pick me up a copy of the game. I haven't had a baseball game in a couple of years so I'm actually kind of excited to play another won. I think the last one I had was MLB 11 and I didn't like it very much so I'm hope I'm not disappointed again. I'm ready to take my O's to the World Series . Anyways, who else plans on picking up the game? Are you excited?

I'm going to get it. But not for a couple months. I've learned it always drops to like $40 by July. I'm content with MLB The Show '12 till then.

It's coming today. I've never had "The Show" before. Tomb Raider comes today, too.

Unfortunately, The Show is a victim of it's own success. It has been such a great game for so long now that I don't know how much better it can get on this current generation of consoles. Anyone that has any interest at all in baseball owes themself the chance to play this game. One of the best franchises of this generation.

This is so true.

Last year's Vita version was good, but they skimped out on a lot of the presentation aspects that make the PS3 version so immersive. Any word on if the Vita version has improved this year?

You should really try it out. The Show games are some of the few games worth every penny of the full retail price.

I know last years vita version wasn't that great but it was kind of rushed I think. I would've got the PS3 version but they don't have cross buy for it and I have 3 kids that complain every time I play it on the PS3 so hopefully the vita version is better this year. I'm picking it up on my lunch break so I'll post my impressions if no one else has. Was hoping for some reviews first but I love baseball and the show so I'll give it a shot.

Good deal, if you don't mind, let us know how it compares to last year's Vita version. I would love for them to take the Vita version to the next level and have the presentation aspects of the PS3 version. Last year's Vita version was good and I was totally willing to understand the skimped down version due to it being a new system. Don't get me wrong, I still thought it was a very very good game. This year is where they need to really step it up.

Exactly, the thing is though I remember them saying they skimped the presentation because it was a portable version, which I don't know if it is the case, we should have the option like the PS3 version to have it in full or quick games without much presentation at all. Maybe they just said that because they couldn't have it all ready for the release date. I hope that is the case.

Got it pre-ordered thru Gamestop! I don't like shopping at GS, but I liked there pre-order bonus of 12,000 RTTS points!

I traded my COD games for it! I won't be buying anything Activision until they free Crash!

Is 14,000 points a $5.00 value? That would be the sales tax.

Yeah, I remember them saying they did it because it's a portable version. Most everyone wanted them in there when it was all said and done though. Hopefully they do like you said, and give us the option to turn the presentation on or off. That way everyone is happy.

I think a game called All-Star Baseball for the PS1 had a box that you batted with, you could pitch it, spin it and move it to hit the ball. If you used a power swing it shrank the box... I used to love that, why isn't any game doing this anymore?

I don't understand the fun in hitting x at the right time.

Im horrible at figuring out pitches lol, I like the beginner mode that's brings you along easier so you can get the timing down. I will probably pick this up today as it looks like a good buy.

I pre-ordered from Amazon mid December, and the status says shipping soon. WTH?

Anyway, I'm getting it for the 2013 Dodgers roster.

So I grabbed the VITA version on my lunch break. Only got to play 1 inning. Seems almost exactly the same presentation wise and graphics. It was still really good last year, so it's not that big of deal, just was hoping for more of the PS3 style presentation. I hit into a double play and there was no replay and hit a double and no replay, so I am assuming it's the same deal as last year. Graphics looked maybe a little better, not much difference, but they were good last year I thought. I'll be playing on the bus on the way home from work so I'll try and post a little more and hope to have a better idea.

Is there a day 1 patch? If so, how big? It is the deciding factor whether I can play tonight?

Interested in getting it once the bundle deals come back.

Looks like everyone took off their bundle deals (PS3 & Vita) after their preorders had stopped.
