Talk about throwing your money away.
You say that but if you don't own it on DVD or Blu-ray surely it's worth getting. I hear the DVD comes with all the previous extras plus its nicely wrapped up in a Steelbook. That's not throwing your money away especially at £11.20. If and when they do a remastered BD,you can just swap it out and have it in a SB.

How do you know this? I don't think so. It looks like every store has a specific amount and Amazon just ran out of their amount.

It might come back in stock if people cancel. Or Amazon cancels their orders.

Yeah, the Skyfall one is a scam. I am going to complain because they advertised it as an Amazon Exclusive Limited Edition steelbook and now they come up with more and its not stated as an Amazon Exclusive on the new product page. This is misleading. And no, I didn't buy 200 copies. I bought only a few, and even got a small refund for the well known spine scratch. But its still misleading... Don't get me wrong; I am happy for everyone who is now able to get a copy. But I don't want retailers to do this. It's just misleading and stupid and makes collecting steelbooks less fun.

I mean; I am pretty sure there are members or other people who bought the Skyfall copy for 40 GBP on eBay because it was OOP/OOS on Amazon UK. So they've paid waaaaay too much and now Amazon comes up with a new batch?!?!

Amazon will be digging their own grave (in regards to the steelbook market) if they keep on doing this.

A visual representation of what I really mean. Just to be clear: Amazon will dig...

Any word yet if the Steelbook will feature the current or the new transfer?

Amazon digging their own grave - I hardly think so. Wont make any difference. Its still the best place to buy steelbooks now that Play has gone. Ive bought loads of steels from Amazon (UK and abroad) - no trouble with any of them.

So Amazon arrange to get more stock of an item that was highly sought after but in limited supply, and you somehow think thats a bad thing that its not quite so rare anymore. You think its more fun to collect if others miss out. Its not Amazons fault if people are stupid enough to spend extra for a copy on ebay.

The only thing Amazon did that was bad was increase the price to £17.

Can't say I agree with that. I'm pretty sure Amazon is in the "heavy sales volume" business, not the "throttle the teeny-tiny blu-ray steelbook fan market" business.
What you describe sounds like an accident, that is the exception, not the rule, of Amazon's business practices. Perhaps Amazon mislabeled, or there was an error in quantity.
I'll give Amazon the benefit of the doubt on this one.

+1 Amazon can do what they want - and have. You dont have to shop there if you dont want to (but you will anyway )
