I'd back you 100% as I am sure if another format was introduced for 4K then at this stage as our economy struggles to recover it would gain little or no support whatsoever. I am sure the Blu-ray forum are aware of this as they make the important decisions ahead of them. If at all possible add it to Blu-ray.

“Fitting” 4K on some sort of Blu-ray disc is not a problem. More importantly, is the 'will' to do it, on the part of the BDA.
