While I won't say it was perfect casting, I will say he did cast Ewan McGregor well as Obi-Wan, Liam Neeson was great as Qui-Gon, and even though Natalie Portman was particularly wooden, I liked her as Padme. So there was some decent casting throughout, but nothing like the original trilogy.

I don't see what people are getting uppity about.
Princess Leia is going to be an old woman in this movie, and Carrie Fisher fits the part. She'll probably crash diet a bit before shooting, dress in lots of "royal"-looking robes, wear a wig with some spacey hairdo, and play her part of "Old Leia" perfectly fine. |

True and if we are to believe that she followed in Luke's footsteps and trained as a Jedi, one would expect her to be at least SOMEWHAT fit for her age. I mean, Christopher Lee was in his 80's when he played Dooku and he still looked rather good for his age.

I don't care how she looks in real life. Feel free to do whatever you want with your body as far as I'm concerned. But in a film you are playing a character, and Leia being a Jedi would not have let herself go like that. Especially in a culture that advanced. A double chin and worn out body from life of coke addiction isn't Leia. It's just Carrie Fisher. Seeing these characters in this type of shape is not a dream come true it is a nightmare. No one wants to see their heros turn into this.

You're joking right? "No, there is another." "Your sister.... If you will not turn. Perhaps she will." She is a Skywalker and Force sensitive and Lucas always intended Luke's sister to be a Jedi. The sequel trilogy was originally intended to be about Luke's sister becoming a Jedi. This was before Leia was made the sister. I mean I guess they could change it, but smart money is on her being a jedi. Lei being a Jedi was Lucas's idea not the EU authors.
And with Lucas being involved in the story meetings it is even more likely. Quote:
As far as Luke, Han, and Leia is concerned Lucas has probably told them where they are and who they are at this point in the story. Last edited by Cook; 03-07-2013 at 10:47 PM. |
