They are doing a great job with their releases, and they promise to continue. In what world is adding titles to their line-up a negative thing?

They are just mixing their contemporary horror with their classic horror. Its not a big deal. The titles are still coming, so don't worry, they're just ADDING more titles to have items that target a wider audience. The same amount, if not MORE, classic horror is coming. They're just taking the contemporary films that they've also aquired and letting them reap the benefits of being Scream titles.

Everythings ok, now we can stop fussing, for lack of a better word, and continue talking about movies we want them to release that is highly unlikely - all the while waiting on the faintest announcement of new titles...

Ahh.lol. I feel relieved...

You might want to consider investing in a region-free player - there are numerous UK exclusives of classic catalog horror (50's-80's).

I've had a PHANTASM 2 dvd in my possession twice but never watched it. Actually, I've never seen any of the PHANTASM films...

But I already pre-ordered the 2nd one on blu-ray. What should I do, and do I need to see the first to follow the events of the second? Do any characters return and is a lot referenced that's in the first film?

All of the main cast returns with the exception of the older brother. Mikes character is played by James LeGros for this film only. The first films plot is retold via VO.

The main character is in the entire series. The first film is recapped in the 2nd so you could follow and enjoy but you'll be missing out on one of the great horror films

I've got Phantasm II and From Beyond ordered and I'm so excited. I have seen Phantasm II like ten times in my life but I havent seen it in like 20 years (damn I feel old). These will be epic blus. Watching the sneak peak on YouTube of the behind-the-scenes on Phantasm II has got me counting the days till its release.

I watched the first half of Hospital Massacre tonight. I'm iffy on it so far, I'd rank between a Terror Train (on the high end) and a Prom Night (on the low end). I'm definitely looking forward to finishing it, but my interest in buying remains to be seen. If it is mediocre enough for some cheap thrills ill get it (like TerrorVision/video dead) , but if is drags without some progression Ill pass indefinitely (like Lifeforce and From Beyond).

If it comes out on blu-ray, I'll definitely buy it. Not the dvd though. Its not worth it.

I'd like to say "Oh I have X-RAY on BLU!" But I can't afford JUST the dvd...

I did like the movie though, its one of the overlooked slasher gems!!

I've said from the get-go:

I'll buy any scream titles (including the god-awful Dead Souls) if its on blu-ray. Otherwise nope!

PLEASE RELEASE "X-RAY" ON BLU-RAY!!

I get that. I feel about the same way.

My vote is certainly for "Hospital Massacre" aka XRAY to be a dvd/bd COMBO!

That way everyone gets what they want!

When they first announced "TerrorVision" and "The Video Dead", I thought TV was gonna suck and TVD was gonna be epic...

I was wrong! "TerrorVision" was awesome! But "The Video Dead" had very low re-play value for me. It just wasn't very good, but I liked how it knew it was bad. It didn't try to pretend.

I, for one, cannot see them only releasing "X-Ray" on dvd!

Its a classic missing chunk from the slasher genre.

HOSPITAL MASSACRE deserves to be on Blu-Ray Disc more than, say, "The Video Dead". Its a horrible movie in every aspect.

My very thoughts. When I read the synopses I was like, eh, aliens in the TV? Meh. Zombies entering our our world through a TV? Sign me up! And I had the exact opposite reaction when I saw the actual movies. Still a good and worthwhile pairing.

It's hard for me seeing any of their announced releases being DVD only, it would be a shame. I'm hoping its a case of "under promise, over deliver".

I don't think anything they'd put out would have just awful quality, so I would think they could at least upconvert the SD version and slap it on a blu-ray disc.

I would feel better if my money was going toward a NEW blu-ray format instead of fueling a dying one.

-

And, yeah exactly the way I felt about TV/TVD too!...

I'd be 100% down with that, even though I know people will think we're crazy, as long as it was on blu

Opposite for me, I have never truly liked any Full Moon picture to date and I couldn't watch more than 20 minutes of TerrorVision for free on Netflix.

I don't think either one of you are crazy. At least on Blu-ray it would be archived on a more durable format. Even if that was the only benefit from a Blu-ray release I would still prefer it over a DVD copy.

Thought I was alone in my love for Hospital Massacre/X-Ray. Had no idea this flick had so many fans. It's definitely better than a lot of the lesser slashers of its day.

Exactly, I agree with all of you. This should be what every company does. An SD upconvert still looks better and has the durability factor.

And BLU is a new format and in 5 years tops I see everyone converting to it and digital streaming. So, why release films, especially such a niche type cult classic, only on DVD?!

I'd buy a blu-ray version of X-RAY before I even considered picking up the dvd. I just simply cannot manage purchasing the output of 2 formats at once. I'm all BLU or nothing, sorry, but I'm not the only one either...
