HD-DVD and xbox 360

Oh great... Now they changed their mind and decided to put an HD DVD player in Xbox360... Lol

Microsoft today announced, on the CES in Las Vegas, an external HD DVD player for Xbox360. Rumours for such a player has been around for quite a while, but were always denied by M$. Three weeks ago, an news article appeared in Japan about the Xbox360 next launch with a HD DVD drive, however M$ told the world that this wasn't true, that there were no plans for a HD DVD player for Xbox360. That reaction wasn't completely a lie, since M$ now comes with an external drive. The games for the console support HD, but discs with HD content (pre-recorded discs containing movies) weren't playable on the console. It has been said several time, that M$ this time could decide the format war. M$ said that 90% of the people possessing a Xbox360, recently bought a HDTV or were concidering a purchase. When the external HD DVD device will be launched is not known, M$ also didn't say anything about its price.

Hehe... It's certainly a goal for the HD DVD camp. However, I don't think this external device will be as populair, as Xbox360 would've been with internal device.
