Would not mind seeing him with the Ravens, not sure if they want another speed guy since they already have Smith and Jones but it would be pretty awesome to have Joe throwing at three Terps.

Vikings fan here, yeah but I can not say I blame the Vikings for taking the Packers leftovers

Darren Sharper, Ryan Longwell, and Brett Favre played well for the Vikings except for Brett's last season

I think Jennings will play well with the Vikings but that depends on how Ponder plays this season

I am not too happy the Vikings overpaid for Jennings but signing Jennings and getting 3 draft picks in return from the Harvin trade, I would take that!

I am looking forward to seeing Jennings kill the Packers for a change but that is only if Ponder can throw the ball to Jennings

Jake Long agrees to terms with Rams

Quote:
It’s a four-year deal, with a base value of $34 million, for an average of $8.5 million annually. With incentives, the deal can reach $36 million.

The deal has $16 million fully guaranteed, with another $4 million that will become fully guaranteed in 2014.
Good luck Jake, you're going to need it, you're breaking down. Both knees, shoulder, biceps, triceps, back...

since the Vikings only have Jennings to throw to, it shouldn't be to hard to cover just him.

The free agent market has been incredibly weak this year. Players expected teams to overpay but there really haven't been any crazy contracts outside Flacco's deal, and he had a ton of leverage. Greg Jennings and Cliff Avril are two players who turned down deals before free agency that greatly exceeded the contracts they ended up receiving.

A scheduling conflict could force the Ravens to open the season on the road.

Quote:
The Ravens are in conflict with their MLB neighbors the Orioles, who are supposed to host the White Sox on Sept. 5 at 7:05 p.m. Given the proximity of the Ravens’ and Orioles’ buildings, they can’t play both at the same time.

Jeff Zrebeic of the Baltimore Sun reports that Commissioners Roger Goodell and Bud Selig have discussed the topic, but haven’t come to a resolution yet, and that playing the game on Wednesday, Sept. 4 was declined because of Rosh Hashanah.

Given that the baseball schedule is already set, Selig has the opportunity to exert some leverage here. The easy fix is for the Orioles to play an afternoon game, but there’s no reason for them to volunteer to make less money at the gate unless there’s something in it for them.
It's highly unlikely the NFL and MLB don't make an agreement that gets the Orioles game moved to the afternoon. The NFL usually releases their schedule in mid-April so they'll want to have a plan finalized with MLB by that point.

I don't see why they couldn't play the game on Sunday like everyone else. I never liked these early games in the middle of the week.

They could potentially have the Ravens up open at home on Sunday night rather than Thursday if a deal couldn't be reached (and a deal will be reached), but NBC has contractual rights to open the season so there has to be a game on Thursday. I love having the season start on a Thursday. It's a great way to kick the season off. I'm not as big a fan of Thursday games all season long when players are injured and fatigued by the short week, but love it in week 1 when everyone should be healthy.

Its enough of a madhouse when one is going on. I couldn't imagine them at the same time They're literally right on-top of each other and use each-others lots for games.

Because there already is another game scheduled for sunday so why would nbc only want 1 game with a monster rating when by having a thursday & a sunday they can have 2 ?

Also they usually announce the kickoff game during the owners meetings going on now so we should get a resolution by wednesday.

Yeah right after the 12:15 meeting on how to hold the cowboys and skins down another few years. The NFL would have worse ratings than the NHL without the redskins and cowboys the league should be blessed to be in our company.

Patriots owner Bob Kraft said today that he thinks if the NFL is able to convince MLB to move the Orioles game then the Patriots will play the Ravens in the season-opening Thursday night game.

Well hes got a 50-50 shot of being right since the packers or ravens are the only 2 choices.

Cant be the steelers since they are on the road weeks 2-4 so they must be home week 1 & the other 5 teams arent enough of a tv draw for this game.

Long's injury history was really a major red flag. He was kinda pissed that Ireland low-balled him, but then realized Miami's offer was not that bad.

Market is so weak that a few players would rather take a 1 year deal in hope of a bigger payday next year.

Maybe you shouldn't have ignored your collusion.
