I very much doubt Jennifer Lawrence would appear in a 007 movie...she almost turned down "The Hunger Games" because it was a big budget Hollywood movie. She constantly talks about how she prefers smaller budget Indie productions.

Anyhow, here is the latest WIP for my WWII collection. The 1976 movie "The Eagle Has Landed" is available as a region free Blu-ray from amazon uk and since I have it in my collection I am working a blu-ray cover.

I resurrected the ITC company (which I believe went belly-up over 30 years ago following the disasterous "Raise the Titanic") for the back logo and spine logo.

I need some help on the running time...Blu-ray.com lists 135 minutes but the back of the Blu-ray states 118.

I have never seen this movie but the tag line alone makes me want to see it.

It's based on the Jack Higgins book of the same name. Michael Caine plays a German paratrooper, Donald Sutherland is an IRA gunman and Robert Duvall is a German officer.

On the allies side is a pre-Dallas Larry Hagman, Jenny Agutter, and Treat Williams.

My current work-in-progress, based on the original teaser poster and the 1990 VHS:

That TT took a surprising amount of work, since it's a modification of an existing font: the E was slightly altered, and the U chopped up and put back together. And I had to do it twice since I used the wrong font the first time.

The TT on the back will shrink down once I acquire the stills I want and start on composition.

As a fan of wrap-around covers, Twister looks pretty cool.

I've been hard at work designing custom slipcovers for myself which either use the retail BD art or alternate poster art. I like the custom slipcovers that members have been having printed, but something about them just never quite looks "official," and if I'm going to make them, I want them to look like they came from the studio, even if that means including all of the blue banners on the front of them.

It's coming along well, but I also want to create slipcovers that are based on actual retail slips, but have fatter spines, so they can go over the top of some SteelBooks I own.

For instance, I want to create a custom "Inception" slipcover which looks exactly like the retail one (except for the cutout in the back) but make it fit over the top of my original FYE SteelBook. I even took the lenticular card from a spare, more beaten-up "Inception" slipcover I owned and I'm going to glue that to the custom.

I want to do the same thing with "Wrath of the Titans 3D" and a plethora of others.

My question is, is there anybody who owns some slipcovers and is capable of doing high- or retail-quality scans of fronts/backs/spines of slipcovers and would be willing to try and help me out?

I would just take a scan of the art itself and try to modify it to match, but the back itself can be difficult when it is designed differently than the slipcover back and you're a relative novice when it comes to Photoshop.

Any help would be appreciated! If you want to try and contribute, please PM me!

Thanks!

That's awesome! I just picked up the Twister/Posiedon/ Perfect Storm 3 pack so I've been looking for custom covers for those.

I wish there were more Lawrence of Arabia custom covers as I don't really like the official one. I did a quick mock-up of what I'd like my cover to look like. I really have no photo-editing skills whatsoever so don't poke fun

No disrespect intended - But didn't you grab it from customaniacs?

Thanks. I'll go ahead and do that.

My copy of the novel I've read since junior high is the movie tie-in paperback, so that image and aesthetic has been Dune to me for a long time.

It is Albertus, but the production manipulated it for the poster and credits in the film (in the film, the E is unaltered). This is what I started with in vanilla Albertus:

And what I ended up with:

Technically, the U should be slightly wider and the bow on the D extend a hair further, but I figure 99% is close enough.

I did download that TT file months ago, along with other assets like the poster art back when I first thought of doing the cover. It's the TT Universal has used since their 2006 Extended DVD and not the original posters and covers.

I started the cover using it (it's in the preview on the previous page), but decided I didn't like how mismatched it was from the original TT, which I chose to attempt reproducing on my own. It also just didn't look good on the original artwork.

If I committed some sort of faux pas I sincerely apologize.

No, not at all.

I also prefer to use the original TT's. When I did a custom of "The Jewel of the Nile" all I could find was the newer TT so I set about building my own, with all five words on different layers so I could extend the swirl on the "e" on the end of "Nile" to fit the spine.

Default Back to the Future Blu-ray custom covers by Nissen

Hi all.

Here's a recent commission that the client wants to share with you all. The Back to the Future trilogy in all its VHS glory!

As you can see there are two versions of III. The one with the all-yellow III in the logo is the one most authentic to the actual VHS cover and release posters of the time, but I just can't stand it and am offering a version where the Title Treatment matches the others as well.

PM me for download.

X-Men: First Class and the sequel are big budget Hollywood films. She may prefer indies better, but she is certainly in her share of blockbusters so far.

If anybody receives these and prints them out for use, please do me a favor and slip them inside standard BD cases, take pictures of them, and post them here, I'd love to see how they look in people's collections. Thank you, and special thanks goes out to Nissen for the work and detail put into these spectacular versions.
