Wow, just got back from my store. They only got 8 copies in. Of course the infamous scalper was there and he was going to take 6 while another guy was going to take 2, I said, "that's not going to happen". So I go my copy.
I informed the manager that the guy behind me was going to buy 5 copies, he said they will limit them to 3 each. I guess that's better than nothing.

Bottom line this thing is going to be gone today. So get to the store ASAP.

Just picked up my copy at Best Buy--got there exactly 10AM. They had about 12 copies at my Best Buy.

Okay so I got my confirmation that the steel is ready for pickup. I will not be able to get it until after work (7:30 tonight). What is Best Buy's policy if I get there, and they reserved the regular version instead of the exclusive steel (and by that time I'm sure they'll be sold out of the steel)?

They should have 2 different sku numbers, make sure they got the correct one, and possibly have someone visually describe what they have for you. Hopefully it all works out!

Yes, these are going to sell out by the end of the day today, so hurry your ass up and get someone to get it for you if you can't make it.

My store only had 6 copies at opening but they had a bunch of The Hobbit BB exclusives on a large cardboard display.

BTW, I love the overall layout design of the steelbook

You would be SOL. You can't return the order and you will probably not get any help from the manager. Customer service would have to intervene and you would have to wait until you could cancel the pickup to get a refund. Plus no steel of course.

Wow, does BB restock within the week on these exclusives? I went ahead and ordered online to have it shipped as well. So I got backup now-(1)in store pickup, and if that goes wrong, (2)shipped to my house.

Hopefully I'll be safe.

Ordered a copy online for Store Pickup around 8:00 CDT just in case the shipped one is messed up. Got an email back saying the Item was NOT available for store pickup. My store doesn't open until 10:00. So either they haven't received them into the store yet so they could secure a copy, or others beat me to placing the order on-line. Now the on-line listing shows Unavailable for my store.

They've been know to restock limited exclusives that were sold out the first day. It could happen but there's no guarantee.

Hey guys, been out of it for a while but I'm back.

I found out about this last week. I tried to preorder on BB.com and the icon kept on saying "coming soon". Never got to preorder.

I went there at 10am to pick up my copy today and it was a good thing I did that. They only had about 12 steelies of ZDT. As I grabbed mine, the stockguy picked up all of them from rack and put them in a box. I asked the guy why did he remove the steelbooks and he said it was to hold them for preorder (Which is cool, of course). However, I was the only one with the steelbook cause no one else knew where they were as there were no steels on the floor. If I was to get there any time later I would not have my hands on this. I'm sure in about a week or two, the unclaimed Steels wil hit the racks but at only a dozen steels you really gotta dig. BTW, this is a blind buy so I hope it is not a dissapointment.

It's good management limited him. Hopefully they will limit him in the future or perhaps ban him from the store.

What I would have done after confirming he's the scalper is whip out my phone and start recording him. A public shaming often helps.

Which other exclusives were restocked? I can't recall any other BB steels being restocked.
