As a long time BTTF fan (I consider them my favorite movies), I absolutely LOVE what Nissen did here! It's brilliant! To someone not familiar with them, the inconsistency between the first movie and the sequels with the different MCA logo and the blue spine instead of black would seem odd, but for me, speaking as someone who grew up with the VHS tapes (which I still have) and watched them over and over and had them lined up on my shelf for years, the attention to the little details is awesome. I'm even torn between the two variants of Part III. On the one hand, like Nissen said, the all yellow "III" on the 3rd movie always bugged me growing up (I think they did it to make it stand out since from a distance/ at a glance the roman numerals of II and III don't look very different), so having the option of the red and yellow colored one is very welcomed. At the same time, the all yellow version, for better or worse, was part of the nostalgia of the whole thing. Awesome, awesome job on these! ![]() |

Looks awesome. Even though it probably goes against the original design, I would've still moved the photo on the spine to below the title, so that the spine looks properly weighted. As is, the top half is too heavy and the bottom is all blank (black) space. But I'm nitpicky like that, lol.

Thanks for all the praise everyone, coloured by nostalgia or not. Most of the credit for the look of these covers goes to The Edge, the bloke who commissioned these. He had a clear vision of what he wanted and art-directed the final product. The variant on III was just me being stubborn :-) |

When both use the same gradient coloring, from a distance or at a glance, the title text doesn't look drastically different. Making the III yellow makes it stand out more and helps people notice that it's the 3rd movie. This was probably most useful on VHS when the movies were lined up on a store shelf with the spines facing out. It always bugged me that it was yellow, but I understand why they did it. |

Now that they're all finished, I'm gathering them in one post. The client says it's okay to share with anyone who wants them, so just PM me and I'll set you up.
Let's just hope the films actually surface on Blu someday, but my motto about doing customs for non-existant films has always been "Build it, and they will come". ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And we must forever be grateful for the existence of Jaws 4 because it prompted this immortal quote from Michael Caine: “I have never seen it, but by all accounts it is terrible. However, I have seen the house that it built, and it is terrific.” Thus speaks a working actor ![]() |

If the brand-new BTTF and Jaws customs were added to the index on the first page, they would be easier to find... for people who don't want to search through 600+ pages to find what they want.
That index seriously needs to be updated. |

That's why try to put the film title in the header of my cover posts, so they will show up in a search. |

The last WWII movie I did (1976s "The Eagle Has Landed") was a retro cover to the extent that I used the defunct ITC studio logo on the back and spine to remain true to its roots. I also notice that my latest WIP, 1979's "Escape to Athena" was also released by ITC. |
