Took advantage of the HMV 3 for £20 deal again while I was in there earlier. The BOGOF options were incredibly underwhelming.

Question-

see how a good number of people on here post pictures of new releases- The Fury and Christine (both of which I'd never even heard of before), and now the Roger Rabbit movie for example- is that due to actually knowing of the movie or having seen it before, or it simply being the latest releases on blu ray?

The Fury and Christine (it's based on a Stephen King novel directed by John Carpenter) are Twilight Time releases and limited to 3000 copies so they're collectors items. Both are cult films, The Fury has a soundtrack by John Williams (Star Wars, Indiana Jones et cetra). So buyers are probably buying for the film and the collector's item.

Who Framed Roger Rabbit is a much-loved animated-live-action classic and going to very popular. The Steelbook sold out very quickly.

The Twilight Time release ain't cheap but once they go, they're gone and will go up in value.

I didn't think you were been sarcastic either mate. I just tried to answer your query as best I could, sometimes I come across a bit patronizing but it's never intentional. So you have my apologies.

If you haven't seen Roger Rabbit you should check it out, it's a great mixture of film-noir and Looney Tunes.

Back to your question, I'm sure the Twilight Time releases are 50/50 blind-buys with guys trying to buy something limited and people who like the movies.

It's one of the best things about DVD's and Blu-rays they bring a new audience to older films. Our VHS catalogue titles was pretty poor, at least where I used to shop. I don't think I had any Black & White movies bought on tape mine were all recorded off the telly through Sky and cable.

No need to apologise, didn't come across that way.

Nah I've heard of it. Know the vague outline of the movie, just never seen it.

I suspect the vast majority of people who's never heard of it are in their late teens or early twenties.

Growing up in the 80's meant Roger Rabbit was essential viewing for me - along with the likes of The Goonies, Flight of the Navigator, Short Circuit, Big, Ghostbusters, Critters, Batteries Not Included and countless others.

i'm 31 and was chatting to a 25 year old the other day who had never seen any 'golden age' Stallone or Schwarzeneggar movies. It was so weird as it was compulsive viewing for me when i was younger!

I'm 20 and I've heard of it, and most people I know have, too, but you're probably hitting the right age brackets there.
