The PQ is pretty good considering it is an Echo Bridge release!

Then again, EB does have some excellent PQ releases like Blindness.

Yep, it was a steal at only $5 from Walmart a while back.

It is not in original aspect ratio, though. The Blu-ray from Echo Bridge is in 1.78:1, but at least it's open matte and the picture quality is a decent upgrade from the DVD.

it's not really open matte either though. they opened up the top and bottoms a bit but cropped the sides too. it's a complete re-frame

Great news! Hoping another Baxley 80s action flick... ACTION JACKSON... will be hitting Blu-ray before too long. Been seeing a widescreen HD print on Cinemax the last few months. Looks really good! Hoping a Blu-ray isn't too far behind.

Wow. Very excited and surprised to see this coming out on Blu. I loved watching this with my Dad before I was actually old enough to be watching it. I have always known this movie as I Come in Peace. No one I ever talk to has ever heard of it, but I remember it well. I will be picking this up.

I would love for Shout Factory to release Split Second on blu as well. Would make a nice double feature with I Come in Peace. Several similarities between the 2 films.

This will definitely be a day 1 purchase.

Awesome! Day one buy for me. I hope they release it under the I Come In Peace Title and not Dark Angel. I've always known it as the former when I caught it on HBO as a kid years ago.

in the uk , it was called dark angel , hope there keep the title name , this will go nicely with , the punisher that has just been released in the uk , will be buying both

Holy crap. I saw mention of "Dark Angel" in the scream thread, but ignored the news.

I thought it was about the James Cameron TV Series or what have you. I never knew it was an alternate title to "I Come In Peace"!

That movie is awesome sauce. I will absolutely be picking this up day one.

As it was in most of the rest of the world (the original script title was "Lethal Contact," but the actual title for the film is "Dark Angel"). It was re-titled for the US.
