You know Shenanigans is going to give him $35-40 million in his blockbuster contract once his rookie deal is up, especially since by then the salary cap will have gone up quite significantly.

LOL I'd say give him 60 million a year if he can keep pooping gold nuggets with nothing.

When his rookie contract is up, he better hope Shanny gives him a wheelchair.

I'm very pleased with this signing, Kolb gives us a solid backup and a veteran mentor for whoever we draft as our quarterback of the future. I certainly feel better knowing Kolb is our #2 versus Tarvaris Jackson.

He'll need one from all the super bowl rings he'll have. Those things are heavy.

I am laughing at all the hate Tony Romo is getting over his new contract. I am a big supporter of his and I congradulate his over getting all the money he can. Playing behind a lousey offensive line, no running game, a crappy head coach, horrible play calling......you name it the guy has had to endure it but yet he gets blamed for this and for that. If he had the team Troy Aikman had hell Romo would also have had 3 Super Bowl rings. Aikman had Emmitt and Michael and what does Romo have? Z-E-R-O! Ok I agree the man has made some stupid ass mistakes but thats because he thinks its all on him or nothing. Romo needs some help and if he dont get it he will be running for his life most of the time. And for gods sake the Boys need a DEFENSE! So keep hateing Romo Cowboys haters because if the Cowboys can fix the offense and defense Romo will be holding a Superbowl Trophy.

It's harder to get it when you take a lot of money.

Knowing the Bills they don't plan on drafting a QB. They haven't in over 15 years I believe. They must think Kolb is the man. As a Dolphin fan I don't love Tannehill yet but he is far and away the 2nd best Qb in the division.

It's a near guarantee we take a QB in the first or second round. It sounds like Geno Smith will be off the board at #8, so it's likely going to be Barkley at #8 or Nassib at #41. Of course, trading back from #8 to grab another pick is also an option depending how the first seven picks go. Kolb wasn't signed to be our quarterback for the next decade, he was signed for depth and to be a backup/mentor. We haven't drafted a quarterback to be a starter since Losman in '04, although you could make an argument about Edwards in '07. I pray it goes better this time around. I fully expect us to have a rookie quarterback at the top of our depth chart by the time preseason rolls around.

That is true but as long as Jerry Jones is in charge that will never happen.

Romo's contract is not surprising. Why? Jerry Jones' hero and confidant--- Al Davis.

Gary Myers in his ny daily news column says the nfl is still working on the schedule & it may not be ready for 4/16.

I dont get how they had 2.5 months yet still need more time.

The ravens fiasco didnt help but they knew about that as long also.

Jerry Jones is essentially Al Davis minus the HOF career and basic knowledge of the game. I just don't see how you could justify giving Romo (with one career playoff win in 6+ years) a 108 million dollar extension.

Well, it has to be a very difficult task to figure out the schedules for every team with consideration for prior booked dates, especially if there are multiple cities like Baltimore where you can only hold baseball or football on a given day in September.

The team always gets overhyped by the media, they've had coaching issues, they've had lack of talent issues, exc. exc. exc. Romo on that ravens team wins the super bowl too. He's made mistakes but he's always had a ton to overcome year in and year out and can't just sit back and throw like Brady, like Manning, exc.

The Matt Flynn trade to Oakland is done. Oakland will send a pick in 2014 and a conditional pick in 2015. What round the picks are in is unknown.

Oakland is also near a deal to trade Carson Palmer to Arizona. Palmer will have to work out a new deal at a greatly-reduced salary, and according to Chris Mortensen the Raiders are going to receive little in return, not a 4th or 5th round pick as they had been hoping for.

With all these trades and signings it will be interesting to see who is going to use a high pick on a quarterback now. Kansas City has Alex Smith, Buffalo has Kevin Kolb, Oakland has Flynn, and Arizona will have Palmer. Out of those teams it seems like Buffalo would be the most likely to still draft a QB, as reports are that they still plan to pick a QB with their first or second round pick. While Arizona should fill a different need with their first round pick it would make sense to use a second round pick on a QB if Barkley or someone they like falls to them.
