Angry I have questions and i want answers NOW!

Ok i came to this website yesterday for the first time
I had like 3 questions and i thought i would get answers...This is blu-ray.com
Thats what i get for thinking tho

Did i have fun...YES...I didnt really enjoy the picture of the guy spreading his ass cheeks or the naked sailor but other than that i like this place.

I finally decided to buy the ps3 80 gig from newegg.com still thinking about the warranties i might get the 1 year warranty because i dont know if the sony warranty holds up if i buy it from this website...I never buy online but theres no 80 gigs in the stores right now and i have the money.

And another question i had...I read somewhere here that surround sound wouldnt work with a ps3.

I read that in a thread i dont know how to find old threads or threads i posted on but its somewhere...Is that true or is there only certain set ups that will work???

Sorry this is my second day you will get alot of old questions if your lazy give me a link to the answer...i dont care...if you dont mind leaving the info THATS APPRECIATED

But the last couple posts i have did in the end trying to get the answer to help me has drove me up the wall!!!!!

If you dont understand yesterday when i was asking about chrome trim and it took 80 replies and still no answer to it i had my wife record my reaction with the camcorder...this is literally me and my reaction to how this site frustrates me when i ask a question!

I was talking in a different language also i was so frustrated.

I myself always purchase the extended warranties to ensure that when my electronics products become defective, there is a solution immediately available and that it creates less hassle for me in the long run should I have any discrepancies as to why the company I purchased my electronics product from will not honor any type of replacement, etc. However, its your call if you want to spend the extra $50 or $100 on Newegg.com.

I was about to purchase the 80GB from Newegg, but I decided to hold off on it because I for one did not need another Sixaxis controller because it came as a set and that I would rather wait for the MGS4 bundle in June.

However, for the two PS3s I have (60 & 80), I purchased both the extended warranties on them just in case.

Someone pointed out this website yesterday for online retailers... 9.84 out of 10 rating, over 19k comments. You can trust newegg.

Newegg is good and legitimate.

The 1year warranty from newegg picks up after the manufacturer's warranty wears off. That said, I haven't used Service Net's warranty and I honestly don't know if it's solid or not. For the first year, you're under Sony's warranty. And it's a solid warranty service for now.

If that was geared towards me, Thanks! If memory serves, it was somewhere between $5-600.

newegg is an authorized seller. you'll get the Sony warranty no matter what. The extended warranty is for when the Sony warranty expires

Yeah man thats one of the best set ups i have seen. I'm trying to build a nice one...I have the 52" LCD...no surround sound...no stand

I have a 42 " LCD also and its on a nice stand but its in the extra bed room i turned that into my computer / tv room

I just got this house a couple months ago so everything is still in the works.

I will be ordering the ps3 for games and blu rays then next im looking for surround sound and a stand or entertainment center...In a nice price range tho i cant get too crazy. I might wall mount and put a little stand under it to hold the ps3...i dont know yet how im going to do that 1...

p.s. i also have hardwood floors in my house...I LOVE THEM

If that's really you then you have some deeper issues than just not getting your questions answered on this forum...I personally think you are just "yanking our chain"...at least I hope so for your mental sake!

Don't ever buy extended warranties on electronics. The odds are in your favor that the piece will not fail during the warranty period. If it does then you have to weigh the repair costs against what the warranty would have cost you to begin with!

Look at buying extended warranties like this: If you made a habit of buying ext. warranties on all your electronics...well then you just sealed your fate that you will come up losing money...Why?... because all those pieces of electronics are not going to fail during the extended warranty period. Even if one or two did, you still lose because the overall money you spent on all those warranties are much more than a few repair bills.

I never have purchased a game system in a while...I got a couple tvs and did get the best buy extended warranty tho...

So if i dont have a extended warranty and my ps3 breaks..i get the free 1 year sony warranty...they fix and send me my ps3 or a new one back no refurbished one right????

And once all the warranty runs out...if my ps3 breaks does sony fix it but charge me for fixing...or do i have to just buy a new one???

Im just getting back into gaming and asking some questions

1) Newegg is a great place to buy, have used 'em several times in the past for compute equipment

2) Surround sound works great from the PS3 with the following modes (depending on the disc you buy): Dolby Digital 5.1, DTS 5.1, DD+, Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD, LPCM.
The only one that the PS3 cannot do for now is a mode called HD DTS-MA (mostly Fox releases).

To enjoy all of those, you will need a Surround receiver/Amp connected to your PS3. Hopefully your receiver is recent and you can hook it up with a HDMI cable, otherwise it would be through optical and you would miss on the 7.1 lossless modes (DD+, TrueHD, DTS-HD and LPCM).

Personally, I have a good ol Pioneer amp, with optical only, and the surround modes in DTS and DD from the PS3 are just fine, for now

With warranty service, you're going to get a refurb, even if it's with the 'extended warranty' that Newegg offers.

With Sony's warranty in the US, the way it works, they mail you a box to mail the ps3 to them in [all postage paid], they send you back a refurb'd unit.

For the later, it really depends on Sony's policy at the time, currently, they offer out-of-warranty service, but it's not promised in any of the literature, so it's not necessarily something you can bank on. Currently, out of warranty service is 150$ [all postage paid by Sony].

With the extended warranty from newegg, if it's within the first year, they're going to tell you to go through Sony and use their warranty service. After the first year, you ship to them, they attempt to fix, if they cannot, they send you a replacement unit [which by their terms, can include a refurbished unit]. They have a lemon clause for 4 repairs, get a new unit.

The value of the extended warranty is up to you, but the information is available. Just realize that it's never going to be as 'easy' or straight forward as the websites selling make it out to be.

If your PS3 breaks after the warranty period they will still send you a refurbished one in exchange for your broken one and $150 for out of warranty exchange fee.
