"--Followed by detailed imaginings of how such a creative studio would package a lesser-known cult-discovery title.
Announce that You Were Only Kidding, and you immediately get tagged with a "snob" reputation that you really don't care about cult titles, stick to the creaking old Razzie cliche's of which movies are the "worst" and which aren't, and want to snub the fringe fans. And all that hard work of establishing a maverick-label reputation with the fans will be for naught, overnight. Fans don't like to discover they're more creative and open-minded than the object of their fandom.

It's a bad road to take. Universal tried it with Xanadu, way back in the day, and the results haven't been pretty with the fans since.
(I mean, you could have at least used Howling 2, we at least KNOW you're personally snotty and elitist about that one.)

I only got two of the four titles I ordered. Halloween III and The Nest came in, but Halloween II w/nurse hat and The Funhouse have yet to arrive.

Most of my March Madness order is also in limbo. I received Halloween III, The Nest, and TerrorVision/Video Dead but am still waiting on Halloween II, Deadly Blessing, Terror Train, The Funhouse, and Prison. I logged onto Shout Factory's website to check the status and for unshipped items it says "sent to warehouse" suggesting I am waiting on the warehouse to pull the inventory. It may be this is to be expected with the low prices in a sale like this. I noticed my Halloween II (with Nurses' Hat) and Prison (with poster) items don't have UPCs associated with them (because I assume those "collectable" bonuses have now sold out). Fingers crossed. Let us know if you have any movement with your order and I will do the same.

The movie, as you have guessed, is not very deep. But I've been thinking: Is it a bad movie, or is it just that my tastes have completely changed since those long-ago days when I could see some residual virtue in Annette and Frankie and the gang? Let's say "Roller Boogie" is no better and no worse than the beach blanket/bikini/bingo/bongo movies, and from there you're going to have to take it by yourself.

Can they get titles from Anchor Bay? It would be awesome to see the neglected "Dimension Extreme" DTV flicks on blu-ray. "Eden Lake", "Storm Warning", "Automaton Transfusion", etc. They have several great modern horror titles. The "Feast" sequels would be awesome as well.

I was checking out a back issue of horrorhound that listed 100 horror movies not yet released on DVD. In their first year they will be releasing 10 titles (or 10% of the list for those bad at math). That's pretty staggering considering olive in in second with 4 releases.

Although they meant it as a joke -- honestly, it's more entertaining than a few of the films they HAVE released on Blu. I'd have bought it (and there is an HD master out there, it runs on the MGM HD Movie Channel, so it wasn't a totally crazy proposition).

That is a shame; RIP. Tonight I'll have to watch Vampyros Lesbos in memorial, which feels slightly dirty, but I think Jess would approve. Coincidentally Redemption Films (Kino) recently announced they would bring 10+ of Franco's films to blu-ray this year. Thanks for posting.

To be honest, we all know that "Roller Boogie" coming to Scream Factory was a good laugh but I'd actually love to have it in the collection As a lover of cult films, "Roller Boogie" just seems like a fun one to have plus you have Linda Blair which is a huge plus.

Did anyone catch that Arrow films is also releasing Lifeforce...I wonder if this causes a conflict on which one to get ...or both or whatever

Arrow's STEELBOOK artwork is phenomenal...and they used the Japanese art on the back. That easily trumps the Scream packaging IMO, but you never know about region locking and such. Either way, I have a region free player, so I may have to get them both!
