I got mine from Gamestop yesterday too. I only had time to play about 3 rounds of 9-hole yesterday but its pretty fun. I was a little disappointed that there was no mini-golf in this one I'm not really a fan of that new swing either..... I can't wait to try out online though, I think its going to be great!

I played a few rounds last night and it's great fun. I love the advanced swing, it just feel much more natural, I've more birdies in two rounds than I had in all previews hot shots games combined ok ok I'm exaggerating but I like it better..
Online is also fun, I played in a tourney with almost 50 people in it!! I took 9th or 10th spot, it's smooth and it also shows your first swing records from single player (you know that little flag on the field)
I'm liking this game a lot already.

I finally got my copy but I'm running into a big problem with lag on my Samsung TV.
I'm using the Samsung HL-R6168W TV and it has a very noticeable lag with this game.

When I play HSG5 using the traditional swing system I'm way off on the impact and I always get the skull (bad shot) but couldn't figure out what was happening.
At first I thought my controller was not sending the bluetooth signal to PS3 fast enough but then I realized that it was actually the lag on TV that was causing me to miss my swing.

If I want to hit the ball I have to press the button way before the visual slider is in the right spot on screen.
The lag is so bad that I can barely enjoy this great game.

If the game had a built in delay I could resolve this but I don't think this option exists.

I tried the lip-sync delay on my receiver but the problem is not an audio/video delay so it had no effect.

Zak

Played for about 4 hours today. This is a fun game.

I like the advanced swing. I even played in a couple online tournaments tonight. I like the system, but boy do I suck. Finish 3-4 under par for 9 holes and end up 14th. Ouch.

I am trying to decide between this game and Tiger Woods '08. My problem with EA Sports games like Madden or MLB, is that for someone who just wants to pick a game up and play , these games are too complicated. Don't get me wrong, I can play them and win games, but I get bored or frustrated pretty easy on them.

Hot Shots looks and sounds like it is fun to play, but is it too "child-like" for an adult to play? Is Tiger Woods similar in how hard it can be to play?

Well, I'm an adult (30s) and I enjoy it. The best part is you can just pick it up and play some holes or jump in a tourney.

No, wait. The best part is you don't have to hear stupid announcers saying stuff, like "No Tiger, that's not how you do it."

Put it this way, if you find Hot Shots Golf complicated, you've got bigger issues than video game selection.

Got a chance to play it some last night. I really liked it. BTW, this is the first one in the series that I've played.

I got a hole-in-one in a tournament yesterday but I didnt get anything, although I was pretty excited! Did you win that tournament or did you get the skin for the double eagle?

Are you sure it was a double eagle? that's a hole in one on a par 5 course, how did you hit it that far
