I'd love an uncut release of Prom Night III on Blu or even DVD. The quality of the uncut Australian disc is atrocious.

The Prom Night flicks are fun cheese and certainly aren't any worse than crap like Deadly Blessing.

I agree. I have spent all I am going to spend on DVDs.

We will all just have to rebuy again when the next format comes out, so Im not too interested in fueling DVDs that are on their way out, right now.

I think Shout is going to do a great job with their upcoming releases, in that they will be BD. I can't see this market appealing to that many casual movie fans, so casual that they are pro-dvd only? No.

MOST SERIOUS MOVIE FANS, THE FANS THAT WOULD BE INTERESTED IN THESE CHEESY CULT FILMS, HAVE ALREADY MADE THE JUMP TO BLU-RAY!

I feel confident that the folks at Shout know this very well.

Maybe we can hold out hope for a Warlock & Warlock : Armageddon release? The second one had a little cheese factor.... Unless they are with some lame-ass company like AB or Warner.... Tremors 2-4 would be the definition of cheesey-horror... especially Aftershocks.... just sayin'...

Its been since the late 80's that I've seen PROM NIGHT 1 & 2. I don't remember much but Michael Ironside. I read everyday the love for Part 2 and you guys are pretty passionate. Somebody, someday wiil release it on blu but I'd rather get a title thats never been on DVD to blu or a major big title like DAY OF THE DEAD, THE HOWLING, etc. At this point, I would like to rewatch the PROM NIGHT films and see what I missed the first time.

I think its worth asking for any titles as a way of letting SF know what the fans want.
I would bet that cliff is trying to Negotiate deals with the likes of lionsgate due to the sheer amount of gems they own.I would'nt be surprised if somewhere down the line they announce deals with other Studios/companies.

And I believe like WB and Echo Bridge, they're a tough nut to crack.

I will say this again that if I want a movie in my collection I honestly dont care what format its in, as long as its on my shelf and can watch it as often as I want. This stubborness over Blu Ray format or nothing to me is really stubborn and childish...Im getting Schizoid whatever way Scream can get it. Some masters just arent good enough for HD mastering.

The Town That Dreaded Sundown does not have an HD master, and it is being released on BLU, because they used an SD upconvert. They could very easilly do that to any of their other films, it might not look like AVATAR, but it would 100% look better than having nothing done to it at all.

And I do not think it is childish that people want movies on blu-ray. If eveyone thought the way you did, no offence, but then there would be no reason for any films to be put out on BLURAY at all...

I say this with all due respect, as Im genuinely not trying to start crap.

so, basically, why would we even have BLURAY if we are not allowed to want movies on the format? Might as well just stuck to dvds, right?...

this is the BLURAY forum...

You can probably get a great deal on VHS movies too!

I assume you mean The Evictors will be SD, not Town?

You can the same thing about WB and Echo Bridge but neither won't budge.

The Evictors will be in regular SD on the DVD,

I mean that TOWN is an SD UPCONVERT, not an HD master. There wasn't one, so should just upconverted the existing SD one that MGM was using on tv.

They could do this to any other releases they were wary about spending money making HD masters for. Just upconvert the existing SD one, like they did with TOWN.

Town will not be an SD upconvert. The Scream Factory Blu-Ray is using a new HD transfer.

We can now officially report that THE TOWN THAT DREADED SUNDOWN will be coming to DVD...and Blu-ray! We are actually creating a new HD transfer of the film as we type.

We thought you'd want the good news sooner than later. Stay tuned next month for release date info and other details

well I stand corrected, thanks.

Also, the version on MGM-HD and TCM-HD looked great, but it was just an SD Master, and that was what I was referring to. It looked good, so why can't they just do that to other films, like Schizoid or Vagrant? They might not look jaw dropping, but they are bound to look better.
