As much as I love Inception, it is quite the swiss cheese of plot holes

Actually it is a plot hole.

My film appreciation class just watched Memento for our discussion on editing and we spent some time discussing this very subject.

He has short term memory loss but he did not get that condition until after the incident. He remembers everything before the incident, including his name and wife. He cannot remember that he has the condition because of his condition.

The only exception is he has that Sammy Jankis tattoo on his hand, in which he remembers Sammy from before the incident. And that tattoo would help "remind" him of his condition. But he does not look at his hand and remember Sammy everytime his memory resets, yet he still remembers having the condition.

Now for a new plot hole: Back To the Future 2

When future Biff goes back in time to give young Biff the almanac, he then returns to the same future he left from. He should have arrived at that alternate 2015 instead. I understand that a deleted scene showed future Biff fade away when he got back but the whole reality should have been different.

That is cool.

When I looked up this thread I was so surprised on the low count of posts. This should be a much bigger thread.

I will never say a Plot Hole takes away from a movie, suspension of belief is a given its why I like Knight and Day so much. But some flicks play some pretty funny stuff.

The two primary things that nagged me was Bruce's injuries (not just his back, but his leg) and how
[Show spoiler]he managed to return to Gotham.

[Show spoiler]Add that with John Blake just knowing Bruce was Batman by looking at him, Miranda Tate's sudden reveal and Catwoman's inconsistent character, and I really question how people call this movie a Masterpiece.

Good points. I'll agree then that he cannot "remember" he has a condition in the long term (although according to these doctors there's no definitive answer - https://www.healthtap.com/#user_ques...rm-memory-loss
). But he would know something is wrong every 15 minutes when he can't remember what happened 15 minutes ago. When he is suddenly sitting in a cafe and can't remember how he got there, he is not just going to shrug his shoulders and move on with his day. The continual loss of memory is going to be a constant reminder. So I'd argue that it's still not a plot hole. His tattoos and wealth of notes that he sees every day would not only be constant reminders of his condition, they would keep him on track of his goal.

It mentioned that short term Memory loss doesn't effect the memory you get through repetition, so I always figured he remembers he has a condition through the sheer amount of times it has occurred to him and he needed it explaining under care.

The Lost World - Jurassic Park II ( spoilers )

Even as a kid, this bothered me. The ship has a T-Rex and the -not so hard to handle- baby on board. Sleeping. When the ship arrives, the whole crew is gone or dead. So we assume the T-Rex woke up. But he couldn't get out of the hold and he was still there after the crash, ready to break out. I'm sure he didn't take a walk on the ship and then got back in to surprise us, lol.

So ... what killed the crew? Sure, on a ship like that there must be at least 30 people, no? At least. So, all of them had nowhere to hide? How about the people in the machine room? Even in the small room where the steering wheel was, an arm was found, still holding the wheel. But there was only a small door to enter and no windows of walls damaged. Smaller dinosaurs? There was nothing on the ship when they left and -if so- where were they when the ship arrived? So it must be flying dinosaurs? I doubt that.

So, that scene always kinda ruined this sequel for me. Maybe someone can fix that by explaining what I missed?

Evil Dead (2013)

The nail gun that was used to shoot up everyone won't shoot out a nail without pressure. They have been made this way for decades now because people were being shot with them.

Well it is an old cabin in the woods. (Granted I've not seen the film, but I don't think they brought the nail gun with them).

I remember (about 25-30 years ago) going into a garage at a so-called friends house. He closed the garage door, started the compressor, and started shooting a nail gun at me and someone else. I could hear the nails driving into the walls near my head. Scary as hell.

lol don't think you missed anything, always was confused by that myself haha
That and in the first JP, when T-Rex makes his first appearance in the rain and walks out of his pen, then moments later throws the truck down a 100 foot sheer drop.... where did that come from!? haha

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Now, my memory may be fuzzy because I was so disappointed with this movie from the beginning but....Megatron takes orders from the Fallen. The Fallen says only a Prime can defeat him. Now Megatron takes out Prime so why would he take orders from the Fallen? That whole movie was horrible though so...

Indeed! I always wondered about that also ... watched it over and over again and just couldn't understand how that was possible. I thought it was me ... but I'm glad there's someone is with me on this.
