Raiders released Rolando McClain. Would love to see the Ravens pick him up, I'd take all the Tide players I could.

So much for that notion of rooting against your team for a "better draft pick"...

Boards are going to be so different from team to team, many teams drafting in the 20s might end up with their coveted players.

Appearing on NFL Network's NFL AM program Friday morning, Giants CB Aaron Ross said he signed with the Jaguars last offseason only for the money.

"It was a nice paid vacation to Florida," said Ross, who collected over $2.25 million of a deal alleged to be worth $9.75 million over three years. He was released on March 8. "So yeah, I’m very happy to be back with the Giants," added Ross.

What a freaking moron. I know some people like it when athletes are honest, but you keep that kind of things for yourself unless you are stupid. I would be pissed if I was a Jaguars fan and I would break his legs.

The better draft pick isnt just for the 1st round its for all the other rounds too.
So could mean the difference between pick 48 or pick 58 & brandt said 11 to 50 not 11 to 60.
oh & the easier schedule too.

I don't see any problem with believing the Titans can compete for the division. I did not say I think they'll win it... because I don't think we will. I'm expecting 8-8.

We've added A LOT this offseason... And our entire coaching staff is on notice. If they don't make the playoffs this season, they're gone. Bud ain't fudging around anymore. He realizes he'll be dead soon and needs to get the team back to winning like they were from 1999-2003.

Half the problem with Locker was our garbage OL. We added Levitre which is huge. Idk if Warmack can be as effective at RG, but I still have a feeling he's gonna be the pick at #10.

We'll see. I think, at the least, we'll be a competitive team. That's all I can ask at this point. We play the Niners, Seahawks, and Broncos, so we better come ready to play.

The linked story shows that the Raiders have $45 million of dead money (salary cap charges to players no longer on the team) on this year's salary cap. That represents roughly 1/3 of the 2013 salary cap. The former Raiders with large charges include Richard Seymour ($13.714 million) and Tommy Kelly ($6.324 million), quarterback Carson Palmer ($9.34 million) and wide receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey ($5.260 million). The Raiders could have lessened the hit by pushing some of the money onto next year's cap, but the Raiders chose to take the hit at once, which could put them $50 million under the 2014 cap.

Ya its a great move to eat all that dead money this year as its not like we were going to contend anyways, and to have $50 Million under the cap next year, we will be HUGE players in next years free agency... Loving what our new GM is doing, Raider's will be back in a few years, and I cant wait

Teams don't really seem to get the value a year of just good evaluation can have on the future. Something I prayed for with the redskins. You can learn so much more by developing and seeing what you have then continuously trying to bring in FA (Eagles, Redskins of the past, exc.)

Strange to see the Raiders being so smart. They'll throw away this year, get another great pick and all that cap space. Cutting Rolando McClain was another smart move. Loved his body slam on that dude a few years ago but the Raiders new culture has no place for that guy.

Its a long time coming too, I'm glad someone new is running the show, Al Davis left us in really bad shape cap wise... Looking forward to the next few years
