Default The Harry Potter Films To Be Re-Released In Theatres In 2017 (RUMOUR)

Link: The Harry Potter Films Rumoured To Be Re-Released Into Theatres

I am sceptical if this is true or not but I thought I should post it any ways. I will be happy if this is true since I only got to see the last three movies in theares.

Honestly, the only ones that I would want to see in the theaters is the first and last one.

Unless they make them 3D what would be the point?

For the studio to make some more money off the fans like me who would be willing to pay to see these movies again in theatres. Having them in 3D would be a plus though.

I read the half of the title that's previewed before you click on the thread and was about to lose it! "The Harry Potter Films To Be Re-..." I thought it was "rebooted", or "remade".

WB has already milked this franchise to a sickening extent in just the past decade.500 list price for 8 movies if you want all the extras . $1000 list price for a set like half a dozen books about the series and movies. It has really gotten to a point where it just isn't funny anymore. They have gave so little and asked for so much in return from this franchise it is shameful.

That might be a tad extreme. As a fan of the series I can't have asked for much more. Not to mention there are numerous buying options with varying price points to get your Harry Potter fill. Some people seem to think this is milking, but you're not required to buy everything and they exist so people from all different market segments can enjoy the product (and yes, so WB can make money).

I love the films but I have the BD and have watched them so many times that in order to get me into the theater they would have to be 3D. I don't even like 3D but I would go see all 8 of these in an instant.

'Chamber of Secrets' has so many scenes that would look sweet in 3D.

That should be fun. Hopefully they don't convert them all to 3D.

If they do this, then they should do the Twilight films too.

I fully expect Warner Bros. to convert the first 6 movies into 3D. I would be shocked if they didn't, they have milked this franchise so much... it's nauseating. I would only be (mildly) interested in seeing the first film theatrically in 3D. I will not rebuy these films on blu-ray again based solely on a 3D conversion.

What's wrong with seeing a movie how it was made/intended on the big screen once again?

While i'd usually say this is what should happen for some one-off nostalgic movie experiences i've seen done with like Back to the Future etc. I think this rumour is basically the same one a while back that said they were converting them all into 3D to show around the release of the last movie, but they didn't get em done in time, quite strongly because there was becoming a massive backlash against their sloppy 3D early conversions around then.

The 3D likely would be a big part of the re-releases and done to a much higher quality.

Again, i know it's not like seeing the original theatrical version in 2D, but i'm a fan of 3D movie options being given when they're well done conversions. Titanic is a poster child IMO for what 3D conversions should be done like, and if every movie was done as good, i'd definitely support that.

It should be about consumer choice after all, and 2D content is ALWAYS offered for everybody to enjoy, so why not let those who want to, experience it in another dimension
