We have Two different theories. I think it's related to the mom because she was said to go crazy and the way David says that his mother went crazy was very eerie. He kind of just brushed it off and called her crazy without further explaining why he felt that. Seemed like more to it. You gotta ask why would a family decide to break into a random cabin in the woods?

I haven't seen Oz yet and I must have got about The Quick And The Dead because I don't remember much about it since I haven't seen it for a long while. It still doesn't mean this movie is a sequel and I don't take the word of this director I never heard of before he even got near this whole remake was originally thought of.


When I said anything his name is attached to includes the ones he directed or whatever else he had to do on it.

I know Sam calls it a Classic but it's an Oldsmobile Delta 88 not a classic as in Caprice Classic which is a Chevy model.


I really hope there isn't a sequel to this movie so we can get Evil Dead 4 which I would have preferred to begin with.

It's already been stated that a sequel for this is in the works and a possible Evil Dead 4 and Army of Darkness 2

Well, if Fede Alvarez ends up directing Dr. Strange as the rumors suggest, here's hoping that a decent director can handle the directing duties for the sequel. Either way, he's at least writing the script.

I was original cool with this movie coming out but after watching the Trailers & tv spots it look really bad. All of the possessed don't look like deadites at all and another thing I saw is that she cut herself when possessed just seems dumb.


I just think of it the same way as JJ Abrams Star Trek which I still refuse to see.

He calls it THE Classic. It's just a nickname that he gave his car. It's not supposed to be a model name.

If the rumors are true, along with what Bruce Campbell, Rob Tapert and others have been saying, this movie being a sequel might just be what guarantees another movie with Ash.

But it won't technically be EVIL DEAD 4. They've been referring to it as ARMY OF DARKNESS 2.

If a sequel to THIS movie happens, which has been reported. I can't see why they wouldn't tap into Mia's past a little bit. Not saying a sequel would spend a whole movie discussing a possible elaborate back story with her family, but I'm sure that her family history will be addressed at some point in a future installment. And Based on this film, Mia clearly has a sketchy past worth sharing with a film audience.

There was a group of loud college-aged guys behind us that I could tell would be a problem. When it opened on the girl wandering in the woods, one of them made a fake "scared" sound. Instinctively I yelled "SHHHUT UP!" and the whole theater was quiet the entire film! Except for appropriate gasps, moans, and nervous laughter of course.

Yes mainly because I seriously doubt Sam would have allowed someone else to direct this movie if it was a true sequel. After all he would have Ash in it so he could torture Bruce while making the film as Sam likes to do.

After I said. "Every movie Sam Raimi's name is in some way attached to it that takes place between 1973 (Model year of the car.) to now it's going to be in it." You said. "The Classic is in movies that Sam Raimi directed, no just ones that he has his name on." Why make that comment because when I said in some way attached includes the ones he directed.

I heard him say the word Classic as in the model in the commentary on ED2's dvd/bd last time I listened to it when everyone else on it said it's not called a Classic.

It would still be Evil Dead 4. The only reason why it became Army Of Darkness without Evil Dead 3 in the title if I can remember right is because the Studio wanted it that way. All they would have to do is say Evil Dead 4 The Deadite Army Marches on or something like that.




I am not considered a Trekkie but I do understand why you shouldn't mess with what was already established for a very long time by changing the characters & such too much like Abrams movie did. I also like Stargate & enjoy Star Wars.

Whether Army of Darkness was a forced title or not makes no difference now. To release anything new with Evil Dead in the title would undoubtedly get confused for a direct sequel to this new Evil Dead movie. That's why it's likely they would call the fourth Bruce Campbell Evil Dead Army of Darkness 2. It just makes sense.

If you had given the new Star Trek a chance, you would have realized the timeline has been altered, so anything that happens in these movies exists in a parallel timeline, while the events and characters of the original series and movies are going about their business as usual in an opposite timeline. Umm, the point is that the new Star Trek is neither a sequel/prequel or reboot. It's something else entirely and should be judged on its own merits, much like this new Evil Dead film. Phew. Tied that back to the main topic nicely.

Well there is actually a planned sequel for the remake, Army of Darkness 2 and a possible 7th film that would tie in both worlds in the films.
