seen Oz the Great and Powerful, overall I like it very much and will grab this on Blu-ray. seems somewhat introverted in pacing and character dynamic despite the lush scenery. I found that slightly annoying as it became realiant on a particular individuals ability to deliver dialogue..first 20 minutes in Oz seem very by the numbers.

there are however bits and pieces of strong ideas or concepts that actually bring life to this film..3.5/5 round up to 4 if a poll was posted ;-)

Saw Side Effects last night and really enjoyed it. Some great twists and puts me in mind of some other thrillers that I've really enjoyed in the past, can't saw which as they'd give things away.

8/10

Saw "Oz: The Great and Powerful 3D". Wasn't really brilliant or anything, but it was enjoyable and good fun to watch.

Best of all, it was free from having seen 10 films at Village, and for some reason, I wasn't charged any extra fees even though it was in 3D and VMax!

Saw Oz: The Great and Powerful and Zero Dark Thirty back to back in order to claim a free membership at my local cinema (two tickets = one year free, they also double-stamped my loyalty card so my next visit is free!) Both pretty good films, I'd say about 8/10 for both. I might see Oz again because I love the universe and Mila Kunis. Yum.

GI- JOE Retaliation 4/5

better than expected, it doesn't really seem to soar to extraordinary heights, but what it does do is provide consistency in pacing, dialogue that is "acceptable" etc etc. Good character development and a sonic beaut. Jonathan Pryce is awesome, natural at the good and the bad

3d is tops!

Just saw Rust and Bone great flick 8/10 very nicely filmed and beautifully acted. Most seem to gush about Marion Cotillards performance which is great don't get me wrong but I think Matthias Schoenaerts had the harder job of the two and pulled it off perfectly. Great flick that stays with you after you've left the theatre.

Saw A Good Day To Die Hard - it was actually pretty ok. I was worried after hearing so many negative reviews, and i can understand why it hasn't been well received, but once the movie gets into a comfortable groove (about a third of the way through) it gets better.

The first half hour is pretty dire, and the action is the only good thing about it.

Probably check out the Edge Film Fest, really want to see The Invisible War. Not that impressed with the Autumn Events line up, much preferred last year's World Cinema Showcase.

Went to a preview of Warm Bodies, what a fun and sweet film and I never thought I'd say that about a zombie flick I did find the inner monologue at the start of the film a little hard to swallow as it turns on it's head all the known zombie rules
However it all comes together and just works performances are strong particularly by relative newcomer Teresa Palmer. The little winks to romeo and juliet are fun and the sound track is great.

Romance, Comedy and Zombies what more could a gal ask for

Kinda feel like I'm thread hogging with 2 in a row but I'll go right ahead anyway

Just got back from a preview of Oblivion we must be getting it rather early here compared to elsewhere as they confiscated all phones at the door.

The movie wasn't awful but it wasn't anything special either it seemed to have a pacing issue where it was all just kind of stumbled along, there was barely any action until the end and then it was short lived. There was also little feeling of suspense or mortal danger for our hero.

It did however have some stunning visuals and I was impressed with the soundtrack and especially the electronic type sound effects.
Tom is a little more understated than usual which is just as well considering how much screen time we have with him in this movie.

Ending was a little pat and predictable

If I had to pick one word to describe the score it would be "classy" I really don't like it when the score is really in your face ,I much prefer it just to compliment what's happening on the screen which this one does.

But the movie meh nothing special I'm afraid

Oblivion is to me very well handled, particularly interesting twist on a familar theme, but visually and sonically breathtaking. Yea, I loved it 4.5/5.
