If they felt it would've been appropriate, they would've left the additional scenes in the movie. The fact that they took them out is evidence that they weren't deemed appropriate for the intended audience.

Seriously. It's an American company releasing the American cut of an American film to an American audience. There is absolutely no reason for anyone to expect that the international cut would be released. People need to get over it.

I keep getting Swamp Thing and The Toxic Avenger confused... I've somehow managed to never actually see either film, but I'm leaning toward a blind buy on Swamp Thing when it comes out. It just seems like a fun movie.

Sixteen Candles is PG (thank you 1984 ) and I'm sure the shower scene near the beginning of the film would scar today's youth horribly!

Andromeda also has a scene toward the end of the movie where she's getting out of the bathtub.

That's the scene I was thinking about, but I thought she was obscured by curtains? Again it's been quite awhile since I've seen this movie...the first viewing was in the only theatre on Ramstein AFB back in '82.

Shout Factory had hoped to release the international cut, and felt it was important to note that they couldn't. How then, exactly, did you come to the conclusion that there was "no reason for anyone to expect that the international cut would be released" when Shout Factory thought the complete opposite?

Bear in mind, that was before I listened to the podcast but cool, I'm rather curious about the films. Schizoid has Christopher Lloyd anyway so being a fan of his, I'm in.

It comes during the final few minutes when Jeff's running down the list of upcoming releases.

He doesn't mention a specific date, but he mentioned it after the August releases, so I would imagine September.

Also says some "really big ones" will be announced next month.
