I know I already stated my opinion, but I'm going to voice Play.com again. It looks nice, has space for a signature, and you as the owner are swaying toward it as well.
Additionally, you probably won't sell whatever you get signed if you're a big fan of Iron Man/RDJ, so getting the Play.com version signed allows for the FutureShop version to be sold at your leisure while still keeping the signed Steelbook in your personal collection. The note about embossing makes a lot of sense too. Embossing would make it a big PITA to sign something. |

Did you get April's Empire Magazine? My sister grabbed me the shelf copy and I also have the subscriber exclusive. Need to get it framed! |

The good news is that Robert Downey Jr does stop and sign. I'm not 100% on this one with 'RDJ', but some actors HATE merchants (dealers). IF he gets a sniff that your mate is holding a camera to take a photo of him signing the box you're screwed. He may very well think he's a dealer and there will be no time for him to explain and different. Last edited by Alex_DeLarge; 04-15-2013 at 07:44 PM. |

Where do you guys stand on leaving the wrapper on?
Technically, if he signs the steelbook still in the wrapper...he is only really signing the wrapper. I've seen alot of famous people take LP's out of the wrapper before signing one at an intimate autograph signing. I see it all the time at Chiller Theater. It is something to think about because they break down over time and if he signs the wrapper and something happens that removes the wrapper then you brick your steelbook AND your signature. |

It's all a gamble, but to me it's a no-brainer as the personal reward of having the FS Iron Man signed by Downey Jr. trumps any possible loss in my eyes.
And, I'm strictly talking about this from a collector viewpoint and not a reseller viewpoint. My intentions would be to never let that thing go should it occur. Even if someone offered $10,000 cash it would remain my cherished piece! |
