I've replaced about 100 DVDs with Blu but still have about 300 titles on DVD, mostly Asian, that are unlikely to ever be released again.
Mainly because the masters are long since lost or destroyed!
So as much is it pains me to have to watch a DVD nowadays, if I had to choose, content is King so I would have to keep DVD.

Get rid of Blu-rays. Cuz 4K is where it's at.

Just kidding.
But we'll definitely see how this new line up will go...

Yeah, it's a tougher call than it might seem at first glance.

I'd hate to go back to standard definition copies of the stuff I have on BD but getting rid of stuff like Fawlty Towers or Season Two of The Sopranos wouldn't be easy either.

DVD for the win. Because even though Mulholland Drive is not Region A yet it is Region Free in The David Lynch Boxset.

Give up the DVD's and enjoy the hunt of replacing the dvd's with their blu-ray counterparts where applicable. Would be fun....and may happen at some point.

Don't do that. Depending on how you record you could snag some sweet 80s commercials.

what do you mean by give up? If you mean get paid for them I'd rather give up the Blu-rays because they are worth more. But if we are giving them away for free take the DVDs.

I'd drop my Blurays in a heartbeat. I have way too many Kung fu flicks on DVD that most likely won't see bluray releases.

there would be a section for it in my last will and testament, because that's the only way it would happen.

I sorta hear you on this. I'm not big into kung fu movies anymore, but I would love to own First Strike on blu-ray--one of my all-time favorite movies.

Lol; I've been seeing a lot of LaserDiscs around lately. I've been tempted to buy a few, but I know it's a bad idea to start another collection on top of Blus/DVDs and vinyl records, especially when I have no way to play them.

I've seen some of your videos on Youtube and would be interested to hear your answer to this for real.

LaserDisc...I'd probably break into a fellow members house out of desperation and steal their $3,000 player and movie collection.

DVD's are like VHS to me now ever since i switched over to Blu-ray. I only keep a DVD of a film that isn't available on Blu-ray yet.
