I originally thought that we would not be finding out the next hdtv screen resolution would be until 2015. But, from what i posted on the first post of this forum thread meaning the website links, it appears as if 2160P will be coming out sooner rather then later.

Right, 4K displays are hitting shelves next month, but you're missing the point. There's hardly any content yet. HD cable/sat is still only able to handle highly compressed 1080i/p, which is about the equivalent of 480p upconverted. The only 4K content available right of this moment is Sony's digital collection device, which is running around $800 and only contains a handful of films.

There are no 4K players hitting stores next month because there is no content for any player to play in the first place. As I told you more than once earlier in this thread the BDA is still working on the specs for a larger capacity BD to handle 4K resolution. The only thing hitting stores next month are 4K displays, period.

Native 4K Content: Unknown Got it now? Also, 1080p displays actually came out in limited numbers in 2004. It ended up being about 2 years after that until we got an actual format(s), which was BD and HD DVD. |

I've answered the same questions from you multiple times. Maybe you need to go back and reread my answers.

Oh, i see. So 2160P ultra hdtv's coming in May. As for 2160P BD movies they are probably coming in either 2013, or 2014 but i am only guessing on that though.

Yes. I have no interest in the 2008 - 2010 films. I'm interested in the older ones. Glory as well as Ghostbusters, and Groundhog Day whenever that one comes out, since I know they did that one.

It's all marketing so they can get people to re-buy titles they already have at a very marginal improvement in picture quality. Don't fall for it people!! Once 4K TVs are affordable and there is a standard 4K format for home movies then these discs will be crap. In the end they are still 1080P and the only thing that a 4K player and TVs can do with them is to upconvert the picture, the same way your current blu ray players and 1080P TVs do for DVDs. |
