You wants to smoke? Go back to west London and try the BBC Television Centre as I doubt anyone there will object in that building.

P.S.
Whatever you do, despite the fact that HDR acquisition and encoding will increase PQ at screen to eye distances far greater than that for 4K mastering, I would not recommend you reading anymore than the abstract of the two papers linked to at the bottom of this post, or else you’ll inevitably increase your pack/day consumption….https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...dr#post7325076

The Black Dahlia (Super 35(3 perf) -> 4K DI, graded by Mike Sowa @ Laser Pacific)

This flick is of some significance for several reasons I can quickly think of: it represents the first 4K DI which Laser Pacific produced, it was the movie which Vilmos Zsigmond ( http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0005936/ ) went from loving anamorphic to falling newly in love with Super 35, and, probably most relevant to the discussion at hand, he insisted that it be scanned in 4K because during testing he saw a significant difference in the scan picture quality of 4K over 2K using a Super35 source.

Vilmos plug for those who aspire to be cinematographers…http://www.globalcinematography.com/about.html

No smoking allowed.

Well yeah, but if he's like "Oh, I ripped it and am watching it on my iPhone! Looks great!", then that's good to know

I think I'll be holding off on these "Mastered in 4K" titles until the true 4K version is available.
For the record, a scan and image clean-up does not mean restoration. A film as young as The Patriot (2000) wouldn't have damaged film elements that would require specialized handling and also wouldn't have portions that would be cut and become lost/junked. This is a 4k remaster; not a restoration.

I actually was more interested in whether the reviewer’s display is Sony Triluminos capable (as well as his Blu-ray player being the same) in order for him to take advantage of the *Expanded color* (i.e. xvYCC colour… https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...ab#post7391680 ) feature of the disc.

I have a few more for your list:
Mary Poppins
Pollyanna
Swiss Family Robinson
The Insider
Willow

Also, I don't rightly remember but either Pollyanna or Swiss was a YCM combine.

Back to the Future

I don't recall where I heard or read it, but I'm pretty sure I remember producer Bob Gale stating that the first film was scanned at 4K for the Blu-ray, but Part's II and III were not.

Can anyone confirm or deny this?
