Both the Bionic Woman and The Six Million Dollar Man finally dropped for DVD in the last 3 or so years. I doubt they are going back to the drawing board and upgrade them to Blu-Ray. Both series have excellent PQ for DVD. Aaron Spelling had some great production for the early 70's.

I just dont see much pre- 90's TV getting the BD treatment unless it was a huge show or has some hardcore cult following like Dr. Who.
Hits from the 2000 to now like The Sopranos are no-brainers I would think.

"Older" TV wouldnt be 2000-'14. I'd call that recent. Andy Griffith is "Old TV" to me. You can can still get plenty of 60's thru 90's on DVD w/ special features and decent packaging. Gilligan's Island comes to mind (but ive never seen the extras).

Becker is another older TV show I'd really like to see on Blu-ray, though I doubt it would ever happen. Hilarious show, though. Some of Ted Danson's best work.

Speaking of him, what about Cheers and Frasier? Two great shows there.

Starsky & Hutch, Marcus Welby and Emergency are the older shows I'd love to see as well. I don't think they'd have a large enough following for them to take that step.

Maybe if DVD's went the way of VHS?

I own the Starsky & Hutch DVD. And I doubt it getting the BD treatment.
It looks fine. Its a dirty 70's show as it is. When they meet "Dracula" (Season 2, Episode 7)is my favorite.

It's nice to see The Dick Van Dyke Show get the proper BD treatment. Many shows back then were filmed, so it would be nice to see more releases. I'd love to see Leave it to Beaver or The Avengers series come out in blu, too.

I'm wishing some more recent shows get released and am puzzled why they haven't. Spielberg's Taken series comes to mind.

Anything that was shot on film always has the possibility for a BR release as long as the film source still exists. But as someone stated before, if it was shot on video tape there's pretty much nothing that could be done yo that material for a BR release.

Apparently, a BD release of Twin Peaks might get announced soon. Several people here have written that an announcement of an announcement has been made, but without any proof or links.

I would love to see Miami Vice, but I think that while it was shot on film, it was edited on video.

The Avengers would be great to see on Blu, and it was filmed as well, right? Perfect source for Blu-ray remastering.

But it's all about the money and how these bean counters do their formulas to decide if it's worth the investment to remaster, repackage and market new versions against how many of us would drop coin for them. Star Trek is a HUGE market, but many other classic series aren't as well established and, frankly, organized. Space: 1999 is taking a while to get out to on Blu. I don't remember exactly why, but I thought I read they're devoted to getting it out in the best quality possible, and that takes money.

Castle is my favorite current show, and I don't understand why it's only released on DVD except maybe because ABC doesn't think the show's demographic aren't huge Blu-ray consumers.

I just sit patiently waiting for some shows to get the HD treatment, like Buffy which I think is in the same situation as TNG with needing an investment in re-doing all the special visual effects all over again to get them up to HD par.

I honestly doubt that we will see many shows from the 1970's or 1980's make it to blu ray. Sad to say. But one thing that I dont understand and it really erks me is when they relase them randomly like CSI: Vegas for example they released season 1 and season 9 but nothing else out of the 14 seasons..???? so if your not going to release them all dont do any

I would love to see Taken get a blu ray release, really liked it. Would also like to see The Munsters get a release as well as The Addams Family(more a fan of The Munsters though).

Anyone else think some of the Disney animated TV shows would be nice to see on Blu-ray? I remember enjoying Aladdin and Timon & Pumbaa many years ago.

I'd love to see every show on Blu-ray, but most shows would be too much of a risk to come to Blu-ray. The only ones that I want that might have a chance are Buffy (with special effects upconverted), Angel, Batman:TAS (Dini says they still have film elements on an episode of Fatman on Batman, I believe), the early seasons of Smallville (HD versions on iTunes, some seasons on HD DVD), The Oc (pretty sure it was shown in HD), and Arrested Development
