I've never heard of that place, but I sincerely doubt that specific scenario has ever happened. lol. Unlike my completely realistic one.

Much as Gamestop annoys me, they're light-years ahead of how the old, now defunct Gamecrazy used to be. Their employees didn't even understand how trade-in deals worked! I went there one Christmas to get a PS3 for my brother, and brought in a weekly ad I had received that morning, and the employees GOT MAD at me for using it, and then had the stupidity to claim that it clashed with my member's card instead of supplementing it. I must have gotten about 200 bucks of credit from well over a thousand dollars' worth of games, plus the clerk antagonized me the entire time.

So, yeah, I don't like Gamestop, but they've treated me a lot better than other stores. Kind of like how a girlfriend that only calls you a loser feels refreshing after you leave one that slashes your tires and hacks your e-mail (hypothetically, of course...or is it?)

Not true Sony has already stated that second hand (used) games will be playable on the PS4. The prevalent rumor at this point in time is that the next XBOX will be unable to play second hand games due to the always online drm protection. That is not a sure thing right now as we don't know all the details.

So as it stands right now you will be able to rent for PS4 but not for the next XBOX.

My local Gamestop sold me a used copy of ODST for $15, and the most they offer per game NO MATTER how old OR new it is is $5...they're the last place I shop for any of my gaming needs. It's funny how they act like they're doing you a favor as they rip you off as you hand over a clean, scratchless, disc with instruction booklet and keepcase(that could pass for brand-new basically with shrinkwrap) and begrudgingly offer you as little as they can with their smug demeanor.

I'm sorry, but that's blatantly untrue.

And you know this how?...My local Gamestop is is run by these guys that have been working there for years. They act like they own the place. I've proven it as I've sent in friends to sell games and they do the same low-ball haggling they pull with me...the hell do you know what goes on around here?

I used to work for Gamestop for 5 and a half years. The cheapest i've seen a trade-in go for is like somewhere between 25 cents to maybe even 10 cents. Though that usually only happens in games that either no one wants, games that have already sold a lot of used copies or sports games that are a few years old that have likely got their online servers shut down and are out-of-date to the latest release. So in other words, games that would go in the bargain bin.

Their trade-in value is based on what the game itself is worth. But they always have those deals for Power Up members to gain even more trade-in store credit.

Oh, this place will nickel and dime you. Even their Facebook page gets crapped on by people.

https://www.facebook.com/YourBuybacks?fref=ts

They were selling used PS2 copies of Silent Hill 3 for $63!

And I have a copy of The Sonny Chiba Collection with Bullet Train, Golgo 13, and Virus on DVD and they would only give $6 for it and at the time last year, copies were going for $70 on Amazon and eBay. Also took in my DVD copy of The Eye, the Chinese/Thai film and they were like; "25 cents" and it's selling for $10.
