I think The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is the best overall (Film/Picture/Sound/Extras) disc I own. 70th Anniversary of Casablanca, Lawrence of Arabia and the 5-Disc Blade Runner are close too.

Sin City, Kill Bill Vol I, Saving Private Ryan or Taxi Driver would all be good choices.

But it MUST be in 7.1 surround sound.

The Pirates of the Carribean series are pretty decent choices. Planet Earth is visually stunning as well.

My feelings as well, different methods for different folks.
I'd be more inclined to choose something that proves that 20th-century films benefit enough to justify the blu-ray format. 'Lawrence of Arabia' is a good one for that, as is 'Blade Runner', 'Ben-Hur' or 'Yojimbo'.

Honestly, now in 2013, if anybody still needs "converting", then they are probably so obstinate that it wouldn't matter what you show them: their head is so far up their butt, they can't see or hear anything anyway.

I'm really impressed with concert releases so i'd have to go with ones i own

Linkin Park road to revolution
Lady gaga: the monster ball
Madonna: Sticky and Sweet
Pink: Funhouse tour
Rihanna: Loud Tour
Britney Spears: Femme Fatal

all of these have amazing picture quality for a concert!!!

but also how can we ever go wrong with Star wars/tdkr/the amazing spiderman

I've never thought about concert blu rays, but that Linkin Park one might be worth a check.

I wouldn't try to convert someone. If they are happy with DVDs or whatever, then that's fine with me. I'm more than happy to extoll the virtues of blu-ray with appropriate titles depending on the friend's taste.

Keep in mind that the 2D transfer on the 3D disc is inferior to the 2D transfer on the 2D standalone disc.
