I take it Gladiator doesn't count due to the replacement offered? But I'm sure some people not in the forum community still have those old DNR'd discs in their collection as they don't or didn't know.

The re-issue of Species mentions different specs on back (DTS-HD MA on the new cover vs PCM on the old) but I can't find anything anywhere saying that is true, so I'm guessing it's a misprint and also doesn't qualify.

This is about U.S. only releases, I assume? Because if we include international releases, there are a million of titles worth double-dipping.

Yeah, Gladiator doesn't count. There's another thread for Recall/Replacement programs.

T2 Skynet Edition - added extras and 6.1 DTS-HD Master Audio

Total Recall Mind Bending Edition - upgraded to MPEG 4 (over MPEG 2) and added extras

Predator Ultimate Hunters Edition - although the picture has a worse rating, it does add extras

Stargate 15th Anniversary Edition - BD50 (old BD25), 7.1 DTS-HD Master Audio (old DD Surround EX) and a lot of extras

Considering it's the exact same extras found on the DVD set I don't consider this a double dip. I actually kept disc 2 from the DVD set that has all the extras and put in a 2 disc case with the 2008 BD release of Predator.

So did we ever figure out if the PQ is better on the new Good Will Hunting? I thought it was concluded that they were the same. Any help is appreciated as I need to see if I need to upgrade as I have the old one.

Same transfer with just a slight difference in extras.

Yeah, if you have the DVD you're good. From reviews, looks like the only things you don't have are;

The Photo Gallery in HD.
A Predator Profile in HD.
The Theatrical Trailer in HD.
An 11 minute Featurette Predator: Evolution of a Species: Hunters of Extreme Perfection in HD.
A 2 minute Predators Sneak Peek in HD.

Added a couple of Sony movies getting the "Mastered in 4K" treatment (not all of them, though, since we don't know yet if Sony is keeping/adding/dropping Bonus Features).

Added Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. I forgot that there are two releases. The second one adds an audio commentary.

I do not double dip on movies I own. I will never buy another copy of a movie I own.

What about when there's a re-release that is sometimes miles ahead of the original/previous release.
