other than audio/video what would you convince them on? hehe if i had to sway someone, i'd show themJaws. that film looks like it could have been made in 2013 on that magnificent transfer. personally people on the fence , and view a good blu ray, and refuse to acknowledge blu ray is vastly superior to the obsolete dvd need to have one of three things happen: vision check, hearing check, or be checked into a mental institution.

That scene still sticks in my head quite frequently. I saw the film at the theater three times and the second and third time I felt like I was watching it for the first time. I honestly still feel that way now even though I've seen it probably close to 100 times since 1998.

I think showing how good some of the older films look is always a good test, but I also think a film like Skyfall has some really stunning visuals and excellent audio.
