Rec'd 2 mint copies from Amazon UK yesterday

Never seen the movie. (never even seen a preview). Super excited to watch this one!

I hope mine is in the mailbox when I get home. Like you this was a blind buy for me but from everything I read I figured what could go wrong. I am a PQ and audio nut so I think it will be an epic flick.

Blind buy for me too and it was great. PQ was excellent and 3D effects were awesome as well. Really enjoyed the movie

Haven't received my UK steelbook yet, though

EDD was May 7th so hopefully it's still on the way.

Not only was the PQ awesome, the sound was too (well it was on my modest system). Still need to watch the 3D extras. It got too late to watch them when we watched the movie.

damn, that was a very good movie with incredibly nice 3d

i was confused though during hte fish/bird scene and the birds eye view scene looking down at the boat as they were shot in what seemed 2.34:1 and 1.37:1 rather than the rest of the film which was 1.85:1.

The flying fish scene was shot like that to give it greater scope, and the black bars were put to amazing use too, the fish actually go through the black bars giving what I would say is one of the best 3D "Pop out" effects I've ever seen in a film. Props to Lee on that one, clever guy!

The Birds eye view scene was done with the black bars on the sides to make it look like the classic book cover which is portrait rather than landscape.

agree! I was so confused because i noticed fish going through the bar, i was liek WTF???? i thought something was wrong with my disc at first. I just wasn't expecting it because usually in the film details on this site it shows the aspct ratios but just showed 1.85:1, so i was caught off guard, kind of pleasantly though - like you said, that fish going in the black bar really did make it pop out.

Same here... wonder if my steelbook is lost somewhere on a boat with Pi and Richard Parker.

That explains why's it taking ages to cross the atlantic...

Hope yours come soon! Mine arrived yesterday from zavvi. Mint condition, absolutely perfect. could not have asked for a more perfect steelbook. Very happy

Movie was fantastic. PQ and SQ were amazing and the 3d is completely immersive.

Its been a crazy life of pi week for me

i finished the book wednesday and watched the movie yesterday. Awesome!
