Anyways, I just finished watching The Burning and its extras. A fine release indeed! Just started The Town That Dreaded Sundown. The print is dirty in places early on so far, but manages to look awesome for the most part.

Can't wait until Highdef-digest puts it there so i can put them on my amazon.com wishlist.

Say Cliff, i hope you consider doing a double feature of Celler Dweller and Ghost Town (1988) as those are 2 MGM owned Empire films that NEVER had an official DVD or blu-ray release. Both would make fans happy if you consider them with MGM and both can be quality in picture/sound with extras like poster and still galleries, audio commentaries, trailers and interviews. Do you also like my Vindicator and Steel and Lace double feature idea? 2 sci-fi films about cyborgs that never had a DVD or blu-ray release yet it's logical to have them as a double feature.

Yeah, it's been mentioned that they won't be able to get the rights to them. Not sure if Halloween 4 and 5 would be possible, but those are with Anchor Bay. I haven't watched the Anchor Bay discs yet, so I'm not sure how good the quality is on these two. Echo Bridge owns 6 - 8, and they (as far as I know) won't be selling the rights. So many people are wanting Prom Night and Curtains, but both of those are with Echo Bridge, so we're out of luck. I would avoid Halloween 6 and H20 from Echo Bridge, as they're both in 1080i with 2.0 sound. H20 is in the wrong aspect ratio, too. There's a triple feature from Canada that is pretty good. It's either Region A or All Regions, and has 6 - 8 on one disc, but all are in their proper aspect ratio and include DTS-HDMA 5.1 surround sound. The Echo Bridge version of Halloween Resurrection is actually pretty good, though, and better than the one included in this release.

Lets hope they spell Psycho right
Since all the Halloween films have had blu ray releases Id rather wait and have them put out the Psycho sequels and titles new to blu...
Actually Carrie would be my exception. It is too good a movie for MGM to release barebones on more than one occasion...
Pet Peeve - a studio not porting over the same extras from DVD to Blu Ray
It comes across as half-a$$ed and not really caring about the fans.

The Canadian triple feature was the one I looking at for 6, H20, and Resurrection. I guess the Anchor Bay ones are my only options for 4 and 5.

I know Scream would do them great justice but I guess you can't get them all.

Well that version coud, very well, be a Collector's Edition if SF goes back and changes the spine title.

I know there's a person here that works for Scream Factory so I have to ask him/her... are there any chances of an uncut Ms. 45 or Vice Squad Blu-Ray?

Like someone else said it was briefly in the public domain after Hen's Tooth right's expired, Warner has the rights now. Someone actually asked about the movie in the Warner Archive page and they said that they plan on working out some details and then releasing it as a MOD disc.

Frankly, I don't see it happening....Anchor Bay still has the rights of 4 and 5. As for the rest of the sequels (6, 7, 8) they're with Echo Bridge.

A Warner MOD edition of ALICE SWEET ALICE would be 100% pointless, especially if it's on DVD and they use the same 90's transfer. I mean, really, what's the point?

Unfortunately, MGM is wanting to hold on to Carrie. They are re-releasing yet another barebones version of the blu-ray this Fall.

The Canadian triple feature was the one I looking at for 6, H20, and Resurrection. I guess the Anchor Bay ones are my only options for 4 and 5.
4 & 5 are with Trancas International, they currently have a deal with Anchor Bay. It is possible that when the deal expires Shout could get them, along with the original Halloween, but only if Anchor Bay declines a renewal or Trancas does the same.

6, H20, & Resurrection are with Miramax, so Echo Bridge could not license them anyway. Again we would have to wait for the deal to expire, most likely.

Cliff recently shot all three down again on Facebook saying that they didn't want to part with the Halloween films, so who knows how strict their deal with Miramax is.

Cliff said that the person who had Ms. 45 wanted too much, after Shout Execs initially stalled the deal with him because they felt the film was too risque. When they allowed him to go back and get it from the rightsholder and the guy wanted too much money.

Vice Squad is an amazing film, and its with MGM, so we can all be hopeful.

A special edition Blu-Ray including the soundtrack would be amazing, but then again this is the same studio that haven't released Exorcist III: Legion, Bad Ronald or Freaks in a decent DVD or Blu-Ray (Bad Ronald looks great but it's begging for a few extras).

Anyone think they could release Lucio Fulci's The Beyond? Been waiting for a Region A release on that one for a long time. I'm aware of the region free arrow release.
