Wow! I use to watch this back in the day. It was my favorite anime of all time. I'm too old for this now. I would jump on this but it would be kinda embarrassing.

Honestly, I think it doesn't matter how old a person is, as long as they enjoy something, they should get it. I'm 20, was introduced to DBZ in my teens and still enjoy it.

Saw this listed and I love Dragonball, but the price is a bit steep for me.

Yeah, surprisingly the boxset is actually CHEAPER than the steelbook:

http://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B00D0Z2JT2

Amazon's logic, I guess.

I've seen the majority of the DB series in my early 20's but now I'm 32 and lost interest.

Seems to me like in the steelbook release, you get the steelbook plus the boxset.

Not seen the movie, but was surprised when I heard they did another one. I'll likely pass even though I loved the original series. Fillers n all.

Now, if only they'd release Kai or the original uncut series on steelbook like Star Trek TNG had done.

A long time ago, Funimation actually released all the specials and movies for DBZ on steelbook, however, only DVD's. Now for Kai, I think there's a Blu-ray boxset for it, but not a steelbook.

There's nothing wrong with subs either, the last few specials like "Super Saiyan Bardock", "Yo! Son Goku and His Friends Return" and "Plan to Eradicate the Super Saiyans" have all been subbed at this point and not dubbed. But even if it was dubbed, people would be divided over the Ocean cast members or the Funimation in house cast members.

Yeah, it cost over $100 for both the steelbook and special editions while it cost less than that for the standard edition:
http://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B00D0Z2J10

You can't really judge a book by it's cover if you only seen trailers. For all we know, the actual movie could be different from the trailers.

Maybe, maybe not, all is subjective because the movie's story plus all the designs including the new villain called Bills is designed by Dragon Ball creator, Akira Toriyama, so this is not filler since the movie has input from the manga author himself.

Here's my 2 cents about the dubs: for DBZ, there's like so many from the Malaysian English dub to the Big Green one, the Ocean one, the Funimation one and recently the Kai one from Funimation and possibility Ocean again.

For the original one, I believe the Japanese version is the best one as both the Ocean and Funimations dubs altered WAY too many stuff. Voice wise, early Ocean is way better than early Funimation, however, by the time Funimation hit the Majin Boo saga, they gotten better and Ocean gotten worst, at least in my opinion.

The best English dubs for Z are the Ocean ones for the first 3 movies and the Dragon Ball Kai one for it's accuracy towards to the original Japanese version like the Ocean movies, better performances, and better recasting for characters, especially for Freeza. My 2 cents anyway.

Also, Funimation as well as various voice actors for the company say it will take 2 years until it come here.
