I might be stating the obvious but I think the point of the article is that you cannot judge speaker performance by brand name, price, vintage, FR, etc. You have to LISTEN to them and determine which sound best to YOU.

Its purely subjective- how does your hearing response alter/ color these curves?.

Maybe people are looking for reasons to justify spending big $$$$ on speakers?

As much as I agree with you, that you should listen to speakers before buying them, the argument made by people on the forum is that the internals of BOSE speakers are technically worse. They do not have the same capabilities as other brands with half the price.

I see the point the BOSE response is trying to make, but BOSE are weak speakers.
