Did warner release it overseas? I know the exact same set was available for a year or two before this "exclusive". I bought it like 6 months before it came out over here...I was pissed to say the least.

The only time Jason ran was pre-Zombie Jason (Parts 2-4)

Hang on to those, they don't go for too cheap on eBay.

I hope we get some new commentaries with less known campers. Hearing from the same usual suspects gets old after awhile.

Don't know if it was mentioned, but Netflix added parts 3-8 recently, all in 1080p.

lol I noticed that yesterday. I recently purchased the Crystal Lake to Manhattan box set for cheap on amazon so I could watch them all (which I did) and then netflix added 3-8. I was kinda hoping they'd add Jason Goes to Hell (which they had about a year ago) and Jason X but no luck.

No plans to ever sell them, even though I sometimes think of clearing out other comics I collected but don't like. Problem is, only the stuff I like and want to keep is worth anything. 90% of what I want to sell is dime or quarter bin.

He considers the films the black cloud. At least this is what he has stated in the 90s during the Scream phenomenon. Talking about H20, he mocked the Friday the 13th series saying, that yes, even he has made bad movies. But people might say, why make H20? He thought he was making the best or 2nd best Halloween movie. He is wrong imo, but some might agree he did.

Basically, he had 90s taint. You might remember people being very vocal and pompous when it came to Friday the 13th due to Scream. This died off in a big way after Freddy vs. Jason came out - I think the movie stinks but it did kill off a lot of that 90s pomposity and the taint of Jason X.

Steve Miner basically thinks the series ruined his career. But, he made H20; if it were truly good, being a hit and all, it might have given Steve another chance. I know Friday the 13th probably isn't great cinema (I think parts 3 and 4 have two of the best horror finales personally), but that's what he wanted with H20 - he failed imo but many 90s fans don't think he did. That's why you have that group who loves Halloween, H20 and Halloween 2. I fall into the Halloween, Halloween 2 and Halloween 4 group.

LOL really? Link?
I dont think Steve Miner would have a career if not for F13th. I would consider Part 2/3 better then Big Bully or Wild Hearts Cant Be Broken. How about the Day of the Dead remake. That was one of the worst movies I've ever seen. I'd say I'm glad he refutes his F13th days. If he really believes they ruined his career then I don't want him apart of the doc

I'm a little late to the party, but RE: The F13 Reboot/Remake - I think overall, it was one of the better remakes produced by Platinum Dunes. Really the only problem I had with the film is the big change to the the "Jason Vorhees" character:
[Show spoiler]Jason isn't supposed to take hostages.

Derek Mears made a great Jason. If nothing else, PD absolutely nailed the character re-design. Hell, I'd like to see a Mears vs. Hodder (both in character as Jason) for a showdown.

Well...he is finally doing his first horror convention this September, so maybe he will start doing other stuff? I have heard, and this could just be rumor, that it's an ego thing. He's upset that people don't praise his OTHER works. That sounds petty so it's probably not true.

Agreed. H20 was a big hit, but I didn't really like the whole Scream feel that it had. I much prefer Halloween 4 and 6 sequel-wise over H20.

Nice, I missed Part 5 when I marathoned 1-9 a while back.

Not really a fan of the whole "Zombie Jason" thing from Part 6 onward, but he looked pretty cool in Part 7. Shame that they sort of "reset" his costume for Part 8.

Jason Goes to Hell is probably one of the top 5 worst horror movies I've personally seen: it has nothing to do with the Friday the 13th series, and comes off like New Line just shoved Jason into an already existing direct-to-video screenplay.

Don't have a desire to see Jason X or the remake, particularly since the kills in the latter sound quite sadistic. One thing I like about the series is that Jason is usually pretty quick and to the point when taking people out.

I'm eager for a 1-8 set, but I'd accept a 1-10 box if that's what WB releases.

I know I'm pretty late to party, but I hope that the rumors turn out true. While I've never been a huge F13 fan, I still think they are worth owning and watching every now and then. I haven't seen most of them, but I hope it's a box set from 1-Jason X
