Whoa, now I gotta check cuz that would be an awesome surprise to have some vudu credit. I've spent a lot on converting so that would be a nice kick back, but not holding my breath. Wasn't officially invited either.

Neither were a lot of us that got the credit.

Sadly, TV shows are not eligible. Hopefully that will change in the future.

Between blu's & Vudu I put about 80% of my dvd's away. (Will be giving them to family & friends)

Example of my brain trying to determine if I should do this....

Case in point ... classic monster movies.

I bought the DVD set for $24 (price error at Blockbuster way back when)

6 monster movies... Dracula, Invisable man ...ect....

Now,.. it's on blu and on sale I think for $65.

However,... I could convert my DVDs to HDX for $30 and then maybe get half of that back....

(Edit - Then I could use the DVDs for Upgrade and Save for $30 in credit toward Blu Rays!)

If It's really only $1 (for now because they give you half back) to convert my Blu Rays to HDX then, I'm tempted to do a lot of them.

I'm really warming up to the idea of a large Vudu collection..... (I guess that's what happens when you run out of shelf space.)

Just got another email from Vudu with the non Beta version.....and my first conversion is free!!!

So, if I'm understanding this correctly, I could take 10 DVDs and convert them to HDX titles for a total of $25? If that's the case, it's definitely time to start going through my collection...

I don't know if you have to have the email from them or not.

So basically Vudu applied this promo to our prior purchases as well in the form of credits.

Is this already active? I can rent blu-ray movies from my library for free so it may be worth it to get HD copies for $1 each.

is there a link of which movies are recognized? Or is every blu-ray available also available in HDX? What about a list of DVDs that can actually upgrade to HDX?

$106 for me. Had I known this was comming, I would have converted more movies not available via Cinemanow.

Yes this seems to be live but glitchy at least mine is.

If you go on Vudu and click on their forums under Support, I believe someone has comprised a list of movies that convert and whether they convert to SD & HD.

Do Criterion blus work as a Criterion remaster in HDX? My library has a surprising number of them available and I wouldn't mind getting some of those if I get nearly the same quality.

Link to thread? I'm browsing around at the forum titles but none seem to be a list of all of the D2D movies. I see one about bugs in the software, one about it going to Mac now, another about the 50% credit...

None of the Criterions that I've tried have been eligible.

And I'd be careful talking about using titles from your local library for this here. Technically, the disc-to-digital program is supposed to be for titles you or your family has purchased. Since the use of library and/or rented discs probably runs afoul of the terms of service, the rules of this forum don't permit the discussion of such activities.

That said, I'm not passing any judgment one way or the other. Just giving a little friendly advice.

I called in and she could not figure it out. She had to send a case up.
