Jerry Jones had a 4th round grade on a player who was drafted in the 1st round, big deal...

Whoa whoa whoa, Escobar is an excellent prospect, at least he can block, unlike Zach Ertz.

The Cowboys will not have a good draft until Jerry Jones starts letting someone else handle it. I have no ill will towards them, it's just fact. He makes bad football decisions.

He makes great business ones, but that isn't what the game is about on the field.

Desean Jackson has fired agent Drew Rosenhaus and is reportedly planning on joining Roc Nation, the new agency owned by Jay-Z which recently signed Geno Smith. Roc Nation and Jay-Z are currently being investigated by the NFLPA because it's against NFLPA rules for a non-certified agent to recruit players and it's obvious that Jay-Z is recruiting players, since the only NFLPA-certified agent with Roc Nation is a woman whose only two clients were low-level players who haven't been in the NFL in years. The question becomes whether the NFLPA will do anything about Jay-Z obviously breaking the runner rule. They can't punish Jay-Z directly but they could rule that no NFLPA-certified agent can be associated with Roc Nation or Jay-Z.

These players need to call Rickey Williams, I guess everone has forgotten when Master P was has agent and was awful. Desean Jackson is crazy for firing a agent that has been doing this for years. I won't be surprised to see more and more young players that listen to his music joining him. Jay Z can be a recuirter just threw his music, so how can the NFL stop that.

Peter King has a story in his Monday Morning QB about how the Raiders tried to move up in 2011 to draft Colin Kaepernick, and that Kaep though he was going to be a Raider. Both the Raiders and 49ers tried to trade up with the Patriots for the first pick of the second round, with the 49ers offering their 2011 second and third round picks and a 2012 third round pick. The Patriots wanted one of the third round picks to be a second round pick and the 49ers weren't willing to give that up so they ended up trading up with the Broncos at 36 for Kaep. It isn't known whether the Patriots wanted the same package from the Raiders, but assuming they did here's what the Raiders got with those picks:

Quote:
• Center Stefen Wisniewski (second round, 2011). Had a so-so rookie year at left guard, then a slightly better year when switched to center in 2012. Center of the future for the Raiders, but not likely a Pro Bowl player.

• Cornerback DeMarcus Van Dyke (third round, 2011). Played about 30 percent of the snaps as a backup corner in 2011. Released in the last cut last year.
• Quarterback Terrelle Pryor (third round, 2012, with pick assigned to Supplemental Draft in 2011). He has thrown 30 passes in mop-up duty in two years. Doesn't appear to have much chance to be the Raiders quarterback of the future.

On the day when Jim Kelly gathers together friends, former teammates, local and national celebrities for the cause named after his late son, the Buffalo Bills Hall of Fame quarterback announced that he has cancer.

Read Jim Kelly's full statement

Kelly issued a statement Monday morning, the same day his 27th annual golf tournament kicked off to benefit his Hunter’s Hope Foundation and other pediatric causes. The former quarterback was diagnosed with bone cancer in his jaw. He’s scheduled to have surgery this Friday.

“This past couple of weeks has been difficult for me,” Kelly said in his statement. “I was recently diagnosed with Squamous-cell carcinoma of the upper jaw bone.”

The good news is after a recent examination it was discovered that the cancer has not spread.

“I have undergone tests which have shown that the cancer is isolated to my upper jaw and has not spread to other parts of my body. Doctors have told me that the prognosis for my recovery is very good.”

Kelly’s announcement had a bit of irony in that a man that has given so much of his time and effort to advance the cause of universal newborn screening for the benefit of infants is now the one in need of support.

“I want to thank everyone who has offered their prayers and would appreciate any prayers said for me and my family moving forward,” said Kelly.

For all cases of bone cancer combined the five-year survival rate is 70 percent according to the American Cancer Society.

But knowing Kelly’s makeup as a player and a person seeing the Hall of Famer beat the odds would be anything but surprising.

“With the excellent medical care that I will be receiving and the loving care of my wife Jill and my daughters Erin and Camryn and the support of my entire family and friend, I am extremely confident in my road to recovery. I plan to tackle this challenge head on, as we Kelly’s always do, with toughness, perseverance and faith.”
A very sad day in Bills nation, hopefully he can pull through this. He's a tough old bird, and I believe he can beat this awful disease. He will certainly be in my prayers, and I trust the Lord will bring him through this.

Without proof; wouldn't that be a form a collusion? I think it's far fetched and would be hard to prove that Jay-Z is actually doing the recruiting himself. He is a very smart businessman and I'm sure he is aware of all of the legal technicalities involved.

There's plenty of proof that Jay-Z was actively involved with the recruitment of Geno Smith. There's a photo of Jay-Z and Smith together before he signed that Smith posted (and then deleted) off his Instagram account, and one of Smith's advisers who was in the recruitment meetings admitted that Smith's connection with Jay-Z in the meetings was a big factor in him signing with Roc Nation (he later claimed he was misquoted). NFLPA rules (this is a union issue, not an NFL issue) dictate that non-certified agents can't be involved in the recruitment of a player, and in this case it's pretty clear that Jay-Z was a major factor in recruiting Smith. Smith has publicly denied that Jay-Z played a role in his recruitment, and if he tells the NFLPA that then it might be tough for the league to punish Roc Nation.

Pats are the one team that can plug players into any position with tom brady and still get 12 wins.

It certainly helps that the Pats are in a division that always has 2 bad teams. With the exception of 2008 (the year Brady got injured) the only year in the last decade where 2 teams in the division other than the Pats were over .500 was 2004, and that was the last time the Bills had a winning record.

Sadly In-N-Out doesn't franchise, which is why the chain is still only on the west coast.

Roger Goodell said there's a good chance the Jaguars will start playing 2 games per year in London very soon.
