Sweet. But what is the "In Home" disc to digital? We took our discs to Walmart after making the list up at home.

EDIT: Never mind, found it. Will be using this from now on.

Funny because you guys would say it doesn't recognize this or that and I was like, recognize? I just do a title search, lol. Now I get it. Just spent $25. Some titles didn't recognize, Body Double, Charlies Angels, Hannibal. But I did get The Perfect Storm, A Christmas Carol (George C Scott), Blade Runner Final Cut, Excalibur and Independence Day. The Abyss was only available in SD.

I have a short list of titles I'm wanting to convert, but keep having errors. For DVDs it seems to be a 50/50 shot of detecting a movie. Night of the Living Dead 1990, one of the main DVD movies I'm trying to convert keeps getting rejected.

It doesn't even attempt to read any Bluray's on my pc even though I have a BD/HD-DVD/DVD super-multi drive and can watch Blurays on my pc fine.

Want to know my luck? AFTER converting my discs I get an email announcing the Disc to Digital At Home Beta and an offer to have my first disc done for free. If I didn't have bad luck....lol. Guess I'll convert Lake Placid or look around for another title I want in HD.

$40.

I keep popping into this thread and keep getting tempted by this "deal"....

I think I'm about to cave. I want Body Double and Femme Fatale in HD along with Cat People. I'm sure I can easily find 10 titles to get my order for half price.

With my luck,... every title I do will be announced as coming to blu ray as soon as I do the convertion ... but ... that would be nice too.

Just did 10 movies for 9.50. Would have been cheaper if the original Ghostbusters BD was recognized, had to use the old 1998 DVD

My copy of Body Double cant be verified by the program.

And,.. All my almadovar movies are not eligible.

If I can't find 10 then I will give up....

I don't actually have so many DVDs left and I don't feel the need to convert anything I have on Blu.

no luck with night shift or jaws 2

I'm trying so hard to get interested in giving money to this "deal" but nothing works.

I think I'm resoved to take my "free" one which will actually be $3 since I'm only interested in upgrading a DVD to HDX.

Then,... I can't decide between Femme Fatale (which looked amazing last time I watched the upconvert) or Cat People (which had playback issues last time I watched the DVD but I believe the HDX on this one is craptastic too.)

Still waiting for Cat People on BD too. I do have an HD copy on my DVR from either Encore or HDNET movies. Never forget seeing that one in the movies at this place called Pitchers and Pictures in Sarasota where you sat at tables and could order appraisers and beer.

Cryin' shame that D2D trades aren't allowed to be advertised anymore.
This would be a great time for those.

just sayin.

You can take them to Wal-mart if you can search and find them. I posted that Body Double doesn't work earlier.

I don't guess I get half off if I take it to walmart but in the case of body double it may still be worth it.

Twilight time is releasing that limited $40 version but it's not worth that much to me and who knows if it will get a standard release.

I would imagine it will because there are plenty of De Palma fans.

Edit- I can't believe you didn't get Perfect Storm free... it always comes up free in promotions. Like right now if you have a spare email addy you can sign up for the first time over at Cinema now and get Perfect storm free.

I had a disc that was not recognized and it asked me for the title,... I should have said that one was body double.

Wouldn't matter. All it does is send in a report to Vudu (or maybe to Gracenote). You don't get the movie you type in.

There are still dozens of movies that I had to type in back in January when this first became available that still aren't properly recognized.

Probably a silly question....

We really only watch our UV and digital copies on multiple iPads and sometimes iPhones. Which of course is only SD. Do you think it is worth it though to spend a little extra money and purchase the movies in hd/hdx? I do not have a blu-ray drive so I'm just using dvd's.

I kinda see no point in buying HD. But then again I may want those in the future to watch on something else besides an iPad. Any thoughts??

I'm definitely gonna do 10 or more to get 50% off!!

It took forever (or maybe a hour or two),

But I found 10 movies in my collection that are...

1) Not available in Blu Ray in USA
2) Available in HDX

They are

Cat People
Femme Fatale
Swimming Pool
What's Eating Gilbert Grape
Vanilla Sky
Mulholland Drive
Panic Room
Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights
Tomb Raider 2
DragonSlayer

Now.... do I go through with it???..... What's the odds that upconverted DVD looks as good or better than HDX ??

I guess I better find something I have on HDX and DVD and do some comparasion.

No way I would buy something SD unless it was a music video and not available in HD in any form. I do see what you mean about watching on ipads and stuff but I like to buy HD these days.
