Commentary is 170MB-ish for a 2 hour movie. Not sure why Sony didn't include that stuff since they had the space.

That's all? That's only .17 of a GB.

Why doesn't Sony just include a second disc with the bonus features on all these "4K" releases?

The ideal situation, but additional cost for Sony to create and press the 2nd disc.

Surely every special features/extras fanatic already owns all extras on DVD/BD...do they need to hear the commentary again

And Angels & Demons. Would have bought that and Total Recall if they have kept the extended cuts

It'd be nice to listen to the audio commentary while watching a proper video presentation.

I finally picked up Karate Kid today at Fry's Electronics here in CA.

They had all of them in stock.

I can verify that indeed there are English subtitles for the Chinese speaking parts. Verified in chapter 6.

I'm not sure why the other person said they were not there.

I tried it in multiple Blu-ray players & the subtitles are there.

Did you have to toggle them on, or did the subtitles display without your prompting?

Also, are there two English subtitle streams, one that only translates Chinese dialogue and another that subtitles all the dialogue?

btw, people's reactions are fantastic. They make slightly improved quality versions and instead of being happy people react strangely. Reminds me of the reaction when VHSers faced with LDs, LDs faced DVDs, CDs faced SACDs and DVD-As, DVDs & HD-DVDs faced BDs. The more things change...
The current Moneyball looks very good, but there is some EE baked into it. Hopefully, it's gone for this release.

No. They come on automatically when the Chinese parts are spoken. That's why I'm baffled as to why the other person had a problem with them.

I didn't have to turn them on. I just pushed play & skipped to Chapter 6.

I haven't watched the movie all the way thru. The grain always looks better resolved with the high bitrate & the colors were really vibrant.

My Sony mega-changer does xvycc color & my Kuro according to the forums I read says it accepts xvycc color.

It was a stellar transfer.

I'll be picking up Men in Black, Godzilla (guilty pleasure of mine) & Spider-Man 2 as long as it has the extended cut.

I'm really concerned that Sony won't put the extended cut on there since they left it off of Angels & Demons & Total Recall.

I would have picked up Angels & Demons if it had been the extended cut.

I'm fine with the Ghostbusters improvement, though they should have made a definitive edition with the new transfer AND extras.

These studios are pretty frustrating sometimes. Sony gives us marginal improvements on releases that were pretty good to begin with, while Universal's overly DNRed releases don't have much chance of being re-released with better transfers.

That and ideally, if the new transfer included the same content as the old, there would be no need to keep the old disc.
