The aliasing in the picture is very minor if at all noticeable - the banding and compression problems, however, are much more troublesome. Not sure what kind of compression algorithm this new batch of titles is being fed through, but ENG, L&S and Atlantis all suffer the same issues - strange macroblocking which crops up in many shots, in certain colours/parts of the picture. For an example, watch the shot of Pacha walking along the bridge near the start of ENG, just before he meets the old man who was thrown out the window. Pacha's green poncho is riddled with noisey macroblocking. Not really sure why this came about, but it's there in all 3 films' transfers. Plus light amounts of edge enhancement seem to have been added to all as well (especially noticeable in ENG as it bleeds in from the black pillarboxes).

It stands the test of time, every single person that watched it with me loved it and I'm with you about reading the reviews here just for the PQ. I could care less what the reviewer thinks of the movie. Here or anywhere. I long ago found out that people are not the same and many time I've hated movies with great reviews and other time movies I LOVE get horrid reviews. Best thing to watch for yourself!! Lilo & Stitch and ENG are at my top 10 all time Fave. Disney movies, ENG is #1. (I rate movies based on how many time I can watch them and still enjoy them) I will still get Atlantis even tough it's kinda crappy. |

Don't stone me, but I'm actually with the reviewer on this one.
I've seen ENG several times, and while I've always enjoyed it, it's always been in the bottom tier of disney movies for me. It just doesn't seem to get me like many of you. I have nothing against the movie, and I can understand why so many love it, but for me its just enjoyable. Also, I really wish they had kept this song in the film. It's awesome! Emperor's New Groove: 9/10 Atlantis The Lost Empire: 6/10 Lilo & Stitch: 9/10 Treasure Planet: 7.5/10 Brother Bear: 6.5/10 Home on the Range: 4/10 Chicken Little: 3/10 Meet the Robinsons: 7/10 Bolt: 7/10 The Princess and the Frog: 9/10 Tangled: 8/10 Winnie the Pooh: 8/10 Wreck-it Ralph: 9/10 As you can see, I have great appreciation for Princess and the Frog, whereas I think Tangled is slightly inferior to it. I'm also not as hard on Treasure Planet and Brother Bear, though I don't dare giving Chicken Little and HotR a pass. |

Oooooo FUN!
And here are mine: Fantasia 2000: 7/10 Dinosaur: ?/10 (I haven't seen this. I know, bad) The Emperor's New Groove: 6/10 (funny...but eh.) Atlantis: The Lost Empire: 4/10 Lilo & Stitch: 8/10 Treasure Planet: 5/10 Brother Bear: 8/10 (I really love this one. I know I'm in the minority) Home on the Range: 2/10 (I haven't seen all of this) Chicken Little: 1/10 (there is literally one good scene in this movie) Meet the Robinsons: 6/10 (this is just eh for me) Bolt: 6/10 The Princess and the Frog: 9/10 (purely for the animation. this is gold) And from the new decade: Tangled: 9.5/10 (I love this movie.) Winnie the Pooh: 7/10 (this tries too hard to be close to the original) Wreck-It Ralph: 8.5/10 (liked a lot...not as sold on it) |

Not me. I'm 23 and Princess and the Frog is the best film from the last decade IMO (from Fantasia 2000-Princess and the Frog).

I really liked it. The animation was gorgeous, Dr. Facilier was a cool villain, and to me it seemed right out of the Disney Renaissance era. The only issue I have with it is that the songs aren't that memorable. I was expecting the catchy songs of Little Mermaid, Beauty & The Beast, The Lion King, and Aladdin. I feel like the soundtracks for those films are just as famous as the films themselves. I was hoping for that in TPATF, but the songs were only ok.

Nah, I don't think for eternity. Tangled was definitely better marketed, that's for sure, but in the end I think PatF is going to end up the more timeless one. I mean, watching Tangled right now, it already seems pretty dated - sorry. I genuinely do like Tangled, I just don't think it's as good as PatF.
